i noticed that for some reason i saw many people with anime pictures a lot and i wonder why because usually when i go on other websites theres not a lot of that and almost no one , and when i browse doom websites i see this a lot and i feel a little bit scared because i heard bad things about that and i wonder if this is true cuz some people on other websites were saying that some furries were doing very terrible things to animals and i feel scared about that. and i am not sure if they were right or not but i also dont understand why on doom websites there are a bit more people who have images of anime girls or some furry as their profile picture so i am just confused

Usually, artsy, or "gothic" kids wearing UFOs. Nobody really knew much about it, with the exception of maybe Dragonball Z and Akira. I've always been into drawing, and art, so I thought some anime was pretty cool. Though I was never a hardcore fan. By the time I was in college, all the real metal heads, and punk rockers hated on emo. That's what I remember best. I knew quite a few metal heads that also went to college. But most of the punk rockers I knew, didn't. Just a funny observation, imo. Then one day, hipsters became of thing, and all of the cool places were ruined by them. All of the sudden everyone is super liberal and PC. All of the real people kind of died away, or just fucked off into oblivion. Then in 2015, Trump changed a lot of things in terms of social dynamics on the internet. In a way, he helped create this website, since there was a moratorium on political threads over at Doomworld. Then somehow I eventually became a real man, with a house and family. |

my school is extremely horrible so that i cannot even go there properly , but i wasnt born in the 90s because i am 16 so its different , but i also hate emos really much theres some rockbands like bring me the horizon and my chemical romance and when i hear them some where it makes me so fucking angry b ecause it really sucks and it doesnt even sound like rock music at all and i just get mad. and in my school i did not see many emos but some of the school mates were always saying things that emos would say and they were saying like they are very depressed and they want to kill themselves but they were just strange and were saying terrible things to each other and they were just strange. and yes i saw the pc people too theres a southpark episode about this guy and i noticed everyone is trying to be like him and i fucking hate that because its extremely annoying and theyreonly talkking about like trans people and other black people all the time and they say that they are so equal and like everyone else but if they think that its true they wouldnt always talk about them all the time cuz why do you have to talk about them all the entire time if theyre noti different from the normal people i dont understand this. and i dont have kids. but i remember when i was like 5 or something that my mother was watching anime and i noticed she only watched this when i should sleep and when i walked into it she just turned off the tv very quickly and everything i saw, i was thinking, oh my god this is just horrible and strange and i was thinking she is stupid , because these stories were like terrible and strange but i did not notice anything of that anymore

I want to see what a post-covid world looks like now that most of the hipster bars were eviscerated by the lockdowns. Also, now that hipsters are old fuckers, and have transformed into what ever the fuck they are now.
I remember at one of my lowest points, I was thrown out of a bar for wrong-think, and I appropriately cursed out the bartender. I'd like to see where that mother fucker is now, if he even still has a job, or if he needs to turn tricks to make end's meet. I believe in karma, so I try not to reveal in the misery of others. But it does make me wonder...

I can't speak to some aspects of original poster's qualms, or explain other persons than myself.
But, I like anime because I like abstract shapes and colors. Cartoons look appealing to me, in general. I also like cute things, and anime is a cute art-style. This art-style contains many things and subgenres.
In Doom speak: FIREBLU is one of my favorite Doom textures, for example. It's colorful and abstract.
Those are a few of my notes, off the top of my head.

huh, i have to agree with dn and Xeep if we are talking about weeaboos in general. Sure, laser precision on the subject. But since i had irl experience with friends and school colleagues that were into anime and had that intense fascination for it's weirdness - in a case-by-case level, i disagree. There's more middle ground and nuance when it comes to the otaku-folk. Now, furries it's another story. The level of derangement and degeneracy present on these people's minds can be insurmountable. So i would say tread lightly if you are willing to interact with them (never go private talk, for example) or just avoid them completely for you own good. I recommend the latter for you, kiddo.

I do not understand why there are so many anime fans out there, coming from a former anime fan i can say that the anime communities and the entire Weeb subculture itself is beyond cringeworthy, but i know y'all dont need me to explain that. i like to use the "Drinking the Kool-aid" term to describe this phenomenon. looking back, i dont remember why i got into it exactly, i think it may have started in my old school. but i still dont understand everyones compulsion to set some anime girl as their profile picture.

if there is one thing that is wrong with this, its the perversion. i can understand a Cultural phenomenon i.e. The Matrix, but when people are lusting for animated girls (and keep in mind a lot of these people are in their teens and 20's) it just gets demented. Now going back to the Matrix, i can understand why people would lust for Carrie ann moss (actress who played trinity) as she is a beautiful and not to mention, REAL, woman. but when people want to throw their lives away for some "Waifu" that they know they will never exist i am just lost for words. in the worst case scenario some of these lost souls even commit suicide! yes you heard me right! they kill themselves for a animated girl!!
i know this doesnt apply to everyone, i have a Awesome friend who is into anime but isnt crazy like that. i just cant understand why everyone goes head over heels for this.

The slippery slope fallacy is what I call a fallacious fallacy. In a perfectly logical system, yes the slippery slope is indeed a fallacy. But we humans are not perfectly logical; we're creatures of habit and this makes the slippery slope a real thing. Therefore for us humans the slippery slope is quite relevant and a valid argument.
Also to add, how the hell can you chibi-fy a damn arachnotron? That thing is disgusting!
