So because I find the culture of gluttonous, self indulgent lifestyles born of severe excess wealth, power, privilege and closed circles that Hollywood represents to be repugnant, this, alongside the way they treat people that are beneath them have taken it to the point where even looking at actors trying to act as relatable human beings in movies is something I can't do. I obviously am just having an inability to face ugly truths over comforting fictions.. why should I keep getting salty whenever they butcher another franchise and spitefully shoehorn ragebait into it to spite the previous audience (making something that was already sterile much worse in the process) and give us all crocodile tears about how they're oppressed when there's a backlash? I still like storytelling so I still want to experience that but why waste time on an industry that gets away with writing utter trash because it's a monopoly in it's format when there's better stuff out there?

Also, how do you expect me to engage with you when your first post in a thread is a list like that and have in the past accused me of having an anime girl pillow when I was ranting about something completely different? How do I respond when it's valentines day and I'm spending it with someone? Do I grind the conversation to a halt to let you rephrase something so I can see where you're coming from or do I just play along when all I can really do is speak for myself? I am strict with myself when it comes to watching anime; not more than one episode a day if I'm watching a series and I don't feel I have to join a community to watch what I like.

And yes there are sick shits out there whose brain is completely warped by porn and hentai, the slippery slope I've seen with them is that they descend into NTR and stop finding humans attractive altogether but we've yet to see where this slope ends, and then there's the crowd that was watching real children getting exploited on the deep web before they got into hentai and would switch between tentacle hentai and that.. see the famous journalist Kurt Eichenwald as an example. I dunno where I'm going with this really, but he did get publicly shamed and that's a good thing he did.

The arachnotron hits you with its plasma -- stunning you just long enough to hurl an iridescent loogie of chemical polymers at your exposed skin. The phlegm blankets your every pore with stinging irritation; each scant second an agonizing burn that boils deep against your uncontested rage. Time plays out ever so slowly until for an instant you can move again, and so driven by this maddening attack you scratch at your melting flesh. This singular moment would prove to be your doom as the arachnotron fires another volley of plasma: each bolt of death a direct hit, pummeling you and sending your limbs flying like fireworks. Your bodily brushes give in and you hit the floor, coughing up blood on the brink of death still grounded on this mortal plane out of sheer will and spite. Just three seconds was all it took to prepare your grave. Your defiant spirit quickly drains as the arachnotron stands before you and metal doorways swing open on its thighs with a hydraulic mist. Thin metal arms contorted by tendons of sentient flesh stretch out and peel open the folds on your rearranged guts, your vision finally fading away until you all you feel is cold metal and hot sponge thrust inside of you. The arachnotron lays into your corpse as an incubator for its children. You die.

There might yet be an excuse for temporary escapism into fictional paradise, which has nothing to do with someone's inability, and everything to do with someone having lived through so much unfair shit that it continues to haunt them, and appreciating more down-to-earth art is impossible because it triggers flashbacks. Although I've yet to see this being the reason to become an anime fan, as in practice they do seem to have infantile personalities.

So far, the only person I know of who had such an excuse is myself, but I didn't get interested in anime, I got interested in k-pop videos instead. Some idols groups, but some non-idol groups too. However, it has been long since I last watched them, as eventually I managed to overcome the flashback thingy. And on my own, by the way. Although the way I did this is seems to be that I just got with the paradigm that "world is not fair and a lot of people have malicious intent" and being the one to care about one's own survival, which also means I have full authority to do nasty things to other people whenever I feel threatened, and don't, in general, trust them. I recently had a chat with a girl who felt sad and decided to tell me about this and told she's recalling the event where we ate sushi together, but when I asked directly whether she is upset about us not meeting for quite some time, she asked me "Don't you sometimes feel sad for no apparent reason?" and I indeed realized I barely ever feel sad anymore, I feel anxiety instead.
