Judging from that gameplay video alone, I'd say it could be a cool game. Some of the ideas presented in the video are very cool, and I like the way they did the finishing moves(sort of like Brutal Doom but more polished). I think the double-jump is cool because it offers more interesting options for gameplay and level progression. It's too early to really know what all to expect, but I'd certainly like to see more. I think this is something that they are taking very seriously. They have 20/20 hindsight on Doom 3, so in theory they should be aware of any flaws or missteps of the past and how to avoid those. And because the Doom community is very large and vocal, they should have a clear idea of what will please the bulk of the fans.

Definitely Brutal Doom inspired, especially the fatalities. I like the fast paced gameplay and the fact you can actually see your surroundings unlike in Doom 3. The plasma rifle shoots at the original firing speed too I think this is going to be a pretty good game.

At first I really didn't enjoy what I saw but over time it's definitely grown on me. I'm really excited for it now. Seems like it will be fun and intense, which is exactly what Doom should be. It has enough characteristics (no reloading, no aim down sights, fast speed etc) from the original games to make me happy. I just hope it creates more Doom fans. The franchise could always use expansion.
