OK, I've played enough of those three I mentioned to want to add them. I would also like to add DBPs 36 & 40.

Dynamite Duchess by Impie (Gzdoom / Total Conversion) Link can be found on mikestoybox.net/doom-maps/Author's website: mikestoybox.net/deserves to be on this list, no one mentioned so far(?) Highlights are incredibly sinister atmosphere in a fantasy setting with many pretty sights, unforgivably high difficulty (pick lower settings for your first playthroughs!), neatly done cutscenes and mind breaking puzzles. Also, the entire setting of this game is a condemnation of lockdowns, of the tyrannical governments that lock you up and take away your freedom under false premise of "safety". This basic premise that underpins this game makes it a therapy for some people and a sequences of trigger ramblings for others. Also voting: DBP34 (aka Luminous Gloom) +1

hey, can i nominate URE2020? it is a Vanilla masterpiece that shouldn't be missed by any real Doom fan! incredible attention to details within Vanilla limits, and varied gameplay. totally worth at least giving a shot, i believe.

Dynamite Duchess is a wonderful story as a game.

Will there be a 2022 entry? No, I do not plan to do a 2022 series ( see here). If someone else would like to take over they are of course welcome to do so.

I haven't had a chance to play a whole lot but here's some stuff I liked, if someone does end up tallying up results:
The 10x10 Project by LunchLunch (Boom) I already nominated this last year but the full release came out this year. My favorite from the new maps is probably the Sunder-ish MAP09: Abuse Me, Darling but I also like MAP10: lunchlunchlunchlunch, which includes my request for the GRAYVINE texture and has other textures I like, like MODWALL.
Overboard by mouldy (Boom) I liked the combat, the humor and all of the Boom shenanigans. I laughed at the imp going overboard and the archvile trying to run away from the big fight. Very fun, memorable WAD. Never beat the New Game+ mode though, but its an interesting idea.
Ozonia by Deadwing (Boom) I rarely have the time to play through full megawads so I haven't beaten this but I've really liked what I've played so far. Has a nice Plutonic feel to it and I really like the custom soundtrack.
Hydrosphere by Bri (Boom) Played this since I liked his previous WAD, Attack on IO. I found this to be pretty good too, with a more hitscannery type of combat. Haven't played Fallen Leaves but I prefer this to what I've played of Elysium's Curse. Good classic Doom stuff.
Anomaly Report by Valkiriforce (Vanilla) Didn't finish this yet but I've really enjoyed it so far, just good classic Doom. Very easy for the most part but I like that it sets out to more or less emulate Doom 2. Also really liked the Oceanside callbacks.
DBP51: Deadly Ritual by Doomer Boards (Limit-removing) My favorite of this year's DBPs that I haven't mapped for.

Favorite 2022 wads I remember playing- Pocket SlaughterProbably my favorite release, it's like an even minier MSCP. Great combat puzzles. Beginner friendly but still challenging. Overboard Hilarious, claustrophobic, and sophisticated just like mouldy's known for. Occula bemused is one of my favorite mappers and when teamed up with tourn's layouts, a compelling hybrid emerges. Jumpwad Haven't finished the wad, I was turned off by the map with ice physics, but what I had played prior was innovative and had me hooked. Vrack Botanicals and Deadly Ritual Solid sets of maps by our guys Fryuko's Hypothermia maps Hopefully I can get a better setup to play the maps my current laptop can't handle but what I've played has been excellent and distinctive. The second released map stands out as a high water mark for the year's slaughter maps, right beside Occula 01. Curiosity and the Cat A single map released by ravendesk. I believe this was his first map and it shows a lot of promise.
