its so cool that he uploads videos and plays them, but whenever he dies and has to load a save, he'll speed up the gameplay footage. i assume because he thinks thats boring for viewers so hes sparing them the time. but if it was boring for me i could skip it with the youtube controls anyway!
sometimes watching someone die on some part and then figuring out how the way to beat it is one of the most exciting and interesting and educational part of a doom playthrough for me, and they speed right through it! its jarring!
i hope to watch them play my easier maps so nothing kills em or confuses em or takes too long to play to the point where they feel compelled to skip any of the video to respect the viewers time. i really prefer a smooth viewing experience for myself and i assume for other viewers too.
at any rate, watching their playthroughs in map by map youtube video format has been an amazing gift, but its also like someone going to a bakery to have a cake baked for you, but they told them not to put icing on it. if you're getting the cake why would you specify that? how much are you gonna make me pay for raw uncut footage?

You're trying to say you like DOS better than me, right?
I feel asleep.

Not sure what he plays on but I guess a decent middleground would be to link to demos in the video description. Haven't seen the channel but I'll have to check it out. We should have a general 'people play DBPs' thread, it's always fun to watch.

DBP release threads in Doom Projects are another good place to post demos (or videos).
I also don't like people speeding the recording in videogame videos - I prefer for videos to go at authentic speed and be representative of a game.

Actually I have few more reasons to speed up the videos
Reason 1 : As 40oz already mentioned, it's done to avoid viewers to get bored and turn the video off.(if you look at my old videos(somewhere in 2016),you can see how there's kinda to much videos being 20-40 minutes long, and it's only because I kept hitting random fireball and dying or getting stuck)
Reason 2 : I have a not very powerful laptop, so the rendering takes big amount of time,(a 10-minute video renders about an hour)speeding up the recordings helps a bit with that, but I have plans to get a much powerful laptop in the future.
Reason 3 : About half of remaining recordings in folder is done with Bandicam, which gone crazy somewhere in 2020 - during recording I kept losing about 10-20 FPS, and in final recording it's been only 10-20 FPS, resulting very choppy image, recently I switched to Mirillis Action, so the FPS problem is partially gone.(it's still around 40-60 FPS, but it doesn't drops below)
I will at least try to lower the amount of speed ups, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

D1m3 totally understand. i made some really big maps in DBPs recently, probably gonna bounce back to making shorter ones for a while so you dont have to upload such long videos. Thanks for being such a thorough player, im so grateful that you played through so many of the projects
