Let's take a break from politics chit-chat and post some strings you would replace stock Doom[2].exe stuff with. It can be (but not limited to) strings replaceable with dehacked, difficulty settings names, or even stuff that can only be tweaked (or exists in) advanced source ports.
Difficulty name replacements (from ITYTD to Nightmare!):
- What do you mean by "WASD"?
- Bruh, I'm drunk
- I've got huge (content removed)
- This wad fucking sucks
- Autism FTW
Censored/minor-friendly: 3rd and 4th difficulty names to be replaced with "You've got huge guts" and "This wad really sucks". UV renames is a reference to all the stupid fucks that default to UV and then give negative review for difficulty (in case when lower difficulties were actually implemented in the first palce).
"Choose skill level:" I would replace with "Naughtiness level:" (remember that you can't make line too long or vanilla will bomb out), cause fuck developers shaming players into playing higher difficulty. I happily go with ITYTD whenever I just need to relax, this doesn't mean I don't have skill to play something more difficult, just that I am not willing to do that right now.
Cheat codes:
IDDQD - Butterface mode on/off (since the word is colloquial now, I think we should use it on men, too)
IDKFA/IDFA - Rambo mode on (both cheats mention no keys stuff)
alternatively, IDKFA can be "Schoolshooter mode on" to differentiate. Wouldn't dare actually use that in a published wad, though.
IDCLIP - Ghost mode on/off
Also, this is rarely seen, but if you spend more than an hour to play a Doom level, the timer on a tally says "SUCKS" near the "Time:". This is also ought to be replaced, cause another instance of developers bullying players for not playing the "intended" way. The only player intention should be to have fun, and developers should not mess with it. Actually, let's face it, the Doom development team had nasty characters, not because times have supposedly changed, but because they fucking did. Granted, I also leave nasty remarks in source code when I am on a tight deadline/work overtime and also Saturdays and Sundays, at least the company guidelines don't allow me to actually put into user face, and I do care about user experience being good as well.
