Definitely the best mapper. When making amazing maps, you also create hours of fun for other people as well as yourself.

I would definitely prefer to create things than to play. I am not even very high in my creative hobbies just average, but I wouldn't give that for gaming/consuming of creative goods.
But in terms of choices and outcomes, maybe best player if we talk about absolutely top, could be better. The top e-sports players sometimes make a lot of fame and money, while the really good mappers are less known publicly (but could make a good career in the game industry maybe).
But I'd still like to stick in my cave and sometimes create stuff and others play casually Doom, but could never for example put the excessive effort for being top of the crop. I look at speedrunners and I admire, but I wouldn't be motivated to absolutely put 1000s of replays till I get that 1 more second.

Best player so I could laugh at noobs, also because mapping is boring. What does it even mean to be the best at mapping, getting Cacoworthlesswards every year and landing on IGN frontpage or actually creating enjoyable and difficult maps?

If I was the best mapper, then I'd have an extra 1200$ in the bank due to Jimmy's and Tarnsman's mapping contests.

Being the best mapper wouldn't be so bad. At the very least I can start getting alot of ideas I had in my head and apply it onto a blank map canvas without staring at a sqaure room for along time.
