And let's not forget, glen failed to transfer the reigns over DBP schedule when he didn't schedule anyone for March 2021, and just left a public notice that no DBP is scheduled when the March began (in subforum closed for non-registered members) and left the board to figure out its course. And 40oz came to rescue the situation immediately, despite all the shit going in his personal life. So much hate for this guy when you should rather hate yourselves - I'm addressing the ones who talk shit about 40oz around here.

He added max-width attribute to "img" tag, so the image scales to take no more than 33% width of the page or maybe the html-element containing post. If you unmaximize the browser window, and drag its borders to change its size, you will see the image changes its size with it.

Discord can be a fine place, sure. I understand it's benefits and I do like them (instant communication, reacts, image and file uploads, voice chat, channels and rooms by categories, etc.)

It's bad in a way that's slightly unique to doom. Doom modding has bred a lot of competition and rivalries over the years (that I, no doubt, own some stake in) Discord has been a safe place for doomworld members and other doom community members to talk about members on Doomworld to other doom community members in a manner where it's not breaking the rules of doomworld (harassing other members, spamming up threads, etc.)

Because of the nature of Discord's design, people from the doom community get included and excluded from different groups. A biproduct of these groups is that some people talk shit and spread rumors about members of the other groups. When people want to be popular in these small clubs, sometimes it serves their reputation to add on to the rumors or identify shortcomings of rival group members.

The best thing to bond the doom community would be to keep communication channels open so that we can talk things out and resolve these issues. What it seems like is that these discord groups like that they bond over these alliances against other doomers, and so people who aren't loyal to their cause tend to get unfairly targeted as breaking ambiguously defined rules on Doomworld, and getting warnings, bannings, and bullied without the bullies receiving any repercussions. That's mostly why this forum was created, to be able to speak openly without that risk.

I had a chat with the woman who cut my hair yesterday, she's a gamer and she told me she's been losing friends to a fracturing in her roleplaying game community that she's been a part of for many years and it's taking place over discord. The same kinds of situations happening there are very similar to what we are dealing with here.

It sucks but it's out of our control if people don't back out of it themselves. The way these groups snowball into groupthink echo chambers really makes these situations feel organic and out of control to the individual, but it takes everyone to realize that and pull out on their own.

That's completely opposite of my experience with 40oz and of course very untrue. When I joined these boards - it happened when COVID-19 lockdown happened in my town - I was invited to participate in DBP, and he was running that month's installment then. Initially, I was creative and managed to do a few areas in first half in month, but then inspiration stalled, as I was improving so did my expectations grow, but they grew faster than did my skill, and I also was still far beneath the other mappers. So, 40oz offered to cooperate at some point, but while he did send his updates, I actually struggled but didn't tell back anything. In the very last days, 40oz realized - despite my lack of communication - that he has to finish the remaining part and also tune up the map significantly, which he did (even though he didn't credit himself upon project's release). That was some severe degree of mind-reading on his part, I would totally want to be on the same team as this guy if we were working at the same company.

And yeah, we never shat on each other in PMs unrelated to DBPs either, despite significant clash of our political views (and he leans to the radical end of left spectrum). So I believe the "shitting in private" rumor to be intentional defamation. And don't even get me started about Hitler. They are, um, on the opposite ends of politics.
