I'm always amazed when people can create new and iconic visuals in their maps using only vanilla textures. Some examples that come to mind for me are Going Down, JPCP's Woodexial, and Sunder's Pale Monument.

Brigandine (sorry, can't take screenshots right now), although it modified a color palette (for desat blues?), but the graphics are untouched, only two meme textures added (I didn't even know about them until opened in Slade) and a void flat. That is a really cool skill, considering these are textures that we've seen in millions of pwads before. it makes for a pretty cool art piece to be able to apply them in a way that is mostly unprecedented. That's hard to be original like that these days. I dont know if this counts but I can be a sucker for any vanilla textured map as long as the lighting is contrasting and is done well. Very flatly illuminated maps are a real bummer to me.

Brigandine was what immediately sprang to mind when I saw the thread title. The level of creativity in his use of those stock textures was absurd.

How does someone just design that? The texturing is already one thing but that architecture is stunning. joe-ilyaThat's a clever trick, I wonder what other kinds of decoration can be made the same way.
