I'm wondering what you guys think are the best/most useful texture packs available for Doom. Obviously one of the major packs still used to great effect is CC4-Tex, with another being the textures from Eternal Doom, but what are some others that you think are good?

I am fond of OTEX for its variety and overall texture quality. I also like that it has a pseudo-namespace for easier access and better overall organization.

Might be cool to find another good hellish-looking outdoor ground/rock flat. CC4-TEX has some good ones, but I think there's still room for a few more concepts in that direction.

I think that the answer depends on what you have in mind for the maps/project in question. Eternal Doom textures are cool even if "specific" but aside the grey bricks that you see often and other few textures they are rarely used. CC4 is useful as an already made pack that extends the stock textures with recolors/variants or even new textures that fit well with vanilla but imo it's hard to work only with it if you want to give a different feel or change the aesthetics to your maps. It's a sort of jack of all trades master of none, plus I think it lacks personality but that's probably also due after seeing it used it in so many wads. DV2 is worth to check imo since it has a plethora of textures so maybe you'll find something, even if many are gimmick stuff that you won't ever use.

Do any of these fit what you're looking for? flats Those do look cool! I can probably put one or two of them to good use. Much appreciated!

Been screwing around with the Mutiny textures for a while and I gotta say for techbase/futuristic city levels they make a great base. There's an infinite amount of variation you could make with them. But that's if you are working on making your own, or editing existing textures. If you just want to use something straight from the source I'd have no idea, since I'm happy with whatever I'd get. For my project "Cursed" I used a vanilla recolor pack that added a lot of silver, gold, and gray for a lot of regular textures which I also thought were nice. Haven't used a lot of other ones though.
