Probably the best musical score in any doom wad ever. There's many movie soundtrack midis across many 1994 doom wads, and they're all bad. But there is something especially "final" about deus vult that makes the terminator theme the perfect fit.
You've beat Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, TNT and Plutonia. You've even beat Alien Vendetta, and Hell Revealed 2. You're a demon killing machine, but hell has one more final challenge for you, the unholy behemoth of demon-laden misery lies ahead.
*terminator theme plays*
It's just the perfect level of pretentious. The design is cruel and brutal, its appearance is an amalgamation of all the final boss stages of all your favorite nintendo games, custom fit for Doom, it's just great. (Though the style of gameplay is a little dated.) I would never guess that any doom wad really deserves to be carried by something as epic as the terminator theme, but deus vult pulls it off.

Yup. Deus Vult is still possibly the most cinematic "epic wad" ever. A lot of more recent slaughter mappers attempt grand fights of similar or even larger scale, but they seem to lack that special direction. I guess you have to be a bit of an arrogant prick to pull off something like this.
