My friends who I haven't seen in a bit recommended this upcoming game to me. They described it like a GTA set in the Bladerunner universe. I was actually expecting something darker, and gritter, more like a Ridley Scott movie, or Akira. But maybe the trailer isn't really capturing the true essence of the game. But maybe I am wrong, Thoughts...
Idk, I just get a real Jared Leto Joker vibe from this, in a way. Which is not good, imo.

I'm not really liking any of these gangs, except maybe the Samurai one.

Apparently "cyberpunk" is also a fashion-style for retarded posers: nextluxury.com/mens-style-and-fashion/best-cyberpunk-hairstyles/It is basically recycling Vivian Westwood's style, to be more futuristic and polished, and instead of actual punk rock, it is electronic hip-hop music. It is just bastardizing the word punk, just like 2000's "Hardcore" bands bastardized 80's Hardcore punk. Similarly, it was for lower-IQ aggressive wiggers.

I remember as a teenager thinking cyberpunk, like steampunk, had nothing to do with punk at all. Sure there were thugs with piercings, tattoos, dyed hair and mohawks, but I think it's purpose was to have an identifiable costume for troublesome people. It doesn't represent the same thing today as it did back then and the trajectory of today's reality doesn't seem to paint punks in the way the 80s did. It makes more sense to design a dystopian future based on what we know about the current day.
Fwiw the rebellious nature of the youth that manifested in punk counterculture back then is still present today in a new form, just not in a form oldheads like us would agree with it. It happens in every generation.

So apparently I was right about this game being terrible.
Has anyone played it?
