I'm sure seed would still stumble around and save his game every time he gets hit anyway and call the puzzle retarded a thousand times, I'd literally have to put one of these suckers under the megasphere : xvertigox understood the puzzle very quickly, but whatever, keep the extra clues in I guess.

I'm waiting for the idgames release to play this (unless that isn't going to happen) and I want to record demos again so what do you mappers think will be the most useful to you in terms of watching a casually epic doom slayer battle? Surely not watching practiced showoffs of an experienced and flawless playthrough. I just want to know what'll be most helpful even if I never test y'all's maps before they're compiled.
EDIT: I've also just realized that it would make more sense to play this BEFORE the idgames release in case I catch something like in the past so if there's a newest new version lay it on me otherwise I'll stick to waiting for the idgames release :S

I just realized in the title of my map I misspelled Nyarlathotep. You can fix it if you want, but misspellings are not necessarily out of character for the mythos.

MegaPancakeStrategist the maps are essentially final now -- I'm not going to go full bigolbilly on yall's and never make a final release but what I'd really like is more bug-related feedback, since I'm quite a shit bughunter and there's bound to be a few left (I also want to make a couple of changes to the menu graphics and change the dehacked strings a bit; I'm also considering adding a short guide to Lovecraft as an added .txt file since it's come to my attention that a lot of motherfuckers out there lack CULTURE). Anyway for demos I'd like to see some FDAs! Also bug reports of course. morpheuskitami lol. I was actually disappointed when you corrected the original typo in 0.9b, which was 'Nyarothlep'. As you say though, it's hard to transcribe words that, if pronounced correctly, would shatter our fragile sanity, so I'm going to leave it as-is.

oh shit it's a new version of this bad boy. This is intended as the final idgames-ready version BUT!! because I'm a pretty bad tester I'd super appreciate it if you dudes would take the time to give it a little look over first. PWETTY PWEASE aw how could you say no to that.
CH-CH-CHANGES: Lava in MAP07 less of a deathtrap now (10% instead of 20%), plus an extra escape route Also MAP07: changed exit door opening switch to a key for (hopefully) clearer progression - Also MAP07: very rarely the floor in the monolith area outside the temple wouldn't raise properly. Added redundant lines to minimise chance of this happening
- Also MAP07: berserk switched to four stacked medkits to eliminate annoying weapon switch effect
- MAP09: 1 doz. extra rockets + some stimpacks as extra padding for people who take a little longer to figure out the crushers
Fixed floating items in MAPs 03 & 11 - Geo in MAP11 (hopefully) harder to get stuck on now
- Crappy textures in MAP05 sorted out
Rogue red pixels in text graphic lumps terminated with extreme prejudice Menu grafx more consistent now too
More dumb jokes Some other shit I'm forgetting

My biggest concern was me getting lost in maps running around like a headless chicken but luckily most of my time was spent running around like a headless chicken with a purpose. A goal to eliminate as many shadow creatures as possible inside my own head and every dark speck of an eye floater but mostly to reach the exit with more than 50% health. I played this with the wrong soundtrack but I had lots of fun and had a lot of saved game loading. It's hard to critique it since I'm forced to be moving so much but it's all fine besides the UMAPINFO not being friendly with my Crispy Doom this time. Except for the mega/soulspheres at the end being in acid, and torches blocking rockets, and infinite height pinky demons, and pinky demons, and the darkness. At least I learned what a 'dais' is though. Good mapset, whatever bs there is goes by fast and it's fun since I like to speed through things and play like a reckless spastic already so it's nice to see that accounted for somewhat.

I had similar thoughts, MegaPancakeStrategist. It plays better once you have a run through the levels, but I do feel that the unfamiliar textures, sprite replacements, and without an abundance of signposting, it doesn't lend itself too favorably for first time runs on nightmare. Those initial frustrations do fade though, and the maps play better afterwards.

thanks cuppy! I hope you'll try it again with the proper music some day (hopefully fabian will return to crispy dev soon, that woof thing is completely useless). I tested the torches blocking rockets thing and found it to be a bit of an edge case though, so I'm not going to worry about changing those for the idgames release (I am going to move that invuln back a few map units though).

AND we're idgames approved. I actually made a few more changes after the last version to address bugs, misalignments and quality of life stuff (mostly obituaries for Zports, but also some palette work). Lobo, maybe you didn't use the intended source port/version? The cheezy music is placeholder to force everyone to update to new ports so that the mapset can also enforce Nightmare!-only, and disable monsters for the rest of difficulties (the music is replaced in those ports). The Nightmare!-only enforcement is paired with the ability to have actually fitting music.

So, this map doesn't teleport at the beginning if you play it in anything less than UV? That got me stumped (I usually just play the hurt me plenty), thought it was a problem with gzdoom version or something. Why does PRBoom plays rick roll?

You're getting crappy music because you're not playing in a UMAPINFO port. You're not having any luck on skills below UV because the maps are designed for nightmare. You're having these problems because you've not read anything about the project you're trying to play.
