I just discovered this album, and I unironically like it a LOT. I have no idea what genre it is. Weather channel music? I know nothing about this kind of music. All I know is I want to listen to a lot more of it! I usually like to listen to the MIDIs of whatever WAD I am playing - even MORE SO when the music was composed by James Paddock! - but I can't help but listen to this music while I play Adventures of Square: Here is another one, this one is like 1980's surf music These albums showed up in my youtube recommended because I listen to vaporwave, and vaporwave artists sample lots of old obscure music.
edit: While I'm here, here is some music that I like to listen to when grinding Nightmare demos. Check out this man's entire discography; he is a beast and churns out like 3-4 albums a year:

I used to be a metalhead until I discovered vaporwave. I discovered it by pure coincidence. Someone made a shitpost on 4chan asking "Is vaporwave red-pilled?" and they linked to this video:
This is a suitable place to see if you like the music because there's a bunch of short samples in this video. If absolutely nothing appeals to you in this vid then it's not for you. Even though I don't smoke weed anymore, I was smoking a lot when I discovered this music so that partly explains how I got into it lol

speaking of vampire, that new vampire album is shit. it's obvious they're headed down the same goddamned shitty path poserlation did. really not pleased. u should try necrowretch if u dont know them here's the last new band i found, a couple years ago. if u like dissection and sacramentum and dawn and all that kinda stuff you should try it.
oh and here's a better band i found even more recently, but i think more people are gonna like that nazghor band:
