Hi, cunts I tried to setup an account on DoomWorld, but that didn't work. So I guess this is going to be the first doom forum for me. I have been actually monitoring DoomWorld for some years (although I did withdraw for some months or years occassionally), and I have first played Doom when I was 5 years old in 1995, although I didn't quite play it for long since school. So, sometime ago I learned of your existence as well. Have not made a map for releasing yet, been experimenting with zokumbsp nodebuilder, have filed an issue on github: github.com/zokum-no/zokumbsp/issues/20Also, I made a dehacked patch that I am going to use for my future wad that adds like 6 monsters to vanilla, removing only the regular stuff: SS Nazis, Icon of Sin, Keens while not losing any of the original monsters although some originals are beefed up, or recolored so I could use a remap hack (like for making Hell Knight and Baron of Hell share the sprite but have different appearances in game) like the one in Rowdy Rudy's Revenge for the two chaingunners. Will hopefully see a release some day. For some reason, I couldn't find an introduction thread here (didn't search really hard, but I did use a "Search" function). So this is going to be an introduction then. |

I had a very similar experience with Doom. Played it very young, took some breaks, and now I'm back into it full time.
Very cool to hear about your projects. 6 new monsters in a single dehacked patch is a pretty cool accomplishment! It would also be very cool to see your work one day when its ready!

Tried to get a DoomWorld account one more time, but no luck. If anyone registers VigilantDoomer there, it is not me.
It might be that Recaptcha is the culprit. It only displays when javascript is disabled and tells that it should be enabled for it to work, however, I disabled all ad-blocking and other tools for doomworld temporarily and it doesn't appear with enabled javascript. I have private browsing ON by default and all the add-ons that disrupt the tracking across sites. So, the recaptcha probably does not recognise me as human yet there is no option to pass a bullshit image selection test like on normal sites. So, the registration attempt is failed automatically with no chance of appeal.
ProBoards simply made me pass that check (and it only took 1 round), after that doomer boards forums are happily browsed with all add-ons on and javascript disabled.
And by the way, thank you to replying to my post, 40oz. I am actually ok with people not always replying to my posts - not my first day on the internet, although I have been silent lurker for quite a while. The laws restricting speech are quite harsh today, so I don't sign up on websites often.

Nice to see a newcomer come here instead of the bigger forums, have you tried the Zandronum or the ZDoom forums? Or are you not interested in advanced source ports?
If so, you've come to the right place, where Boom is advanced, limit-removing is the norm, and anything beyond is alien.
Come join us on our latest DBP, we welcome anyone over there, including map newbies such as yourself, we will give you feedback and help you hone your skills.
Do you live in Germany or North Korea by any chance? These restrictive laws sound familiar.

Welcome! If you really wanna register at that shithole, you might want to try linking a FB/Discord account to doomworld, I THINK it doesn't require captcha. Or try a different browser (or device, e.g. your phone) to create the account. Also as someone who also had to have images and javascript disabled most of the time, I feel your pain, it ain't easy lol. Social networking is considered to be mass media here, a post to something like Facebook can easily score extremism or dangerous misinformation and get a fine (or even get you a prison sentence). Right now, you better not to talk about coronavirus statistics in Russia, because if you get the facts wrong, you will be spreading disinformation and cops will visit you. In short, in countries outside from US there are a lot of exceptions to 'free speech'. Basically, imagine it like DW, but instead of being banned or shadowbanned for posting something you never suspected would be troublesome, you get real life trouble. Or you are posting under emotional rush, and the police decides 'it's serious business'. For that reason, I don't register in typical social media like Facebook, as I would be especially prone to post such things when I feel angry temporarily. |

They struggle to reach 10 maps, and there's no limit anyways, even if we reach beyond 32 maps. You can rant with your emotional rushes in here, no problem, I believe the Russian government doesn't care about sites that don't have big audiences. |
