I'm not even talking about the general frequency of it or how now its particularly focused on a per individual level and no longer broadcasting messages, but how the quality of the stuff they produce is still repulsive. Like they're never funny particularly when theyre trying to be, they usually have just one particular ad at a time thats short that is aired everywhere and on repeat for a duration of time. Sometimes they dont even make the product look appealing. But on the other hand there are youtube channels that produce new, good, and highly anticipated videos consistently; minecraft and roblox players that make palaces and new games. Or even people like us that make an entirely new Doom short (and good) episode every month just because of organization and a will to do it.
Companies and corporations are paying big bucks for advertising space on all social media, apps, games, tv shows, movies and websites that are free for the consumer but they dont even have the decency to make quality that doesnt make me vomit when ever I'm punished with an ad break on anything I want to do.
They're even trying to humanize themselves with donating to charities and having a twitter account with a human like personality. But then have the nerve to fill in their brief air time with flashy unlistenable unwatchable garbage? Like what part of being a disruptive annoying shit bag that pulls the tv remote and changes the channel to whatever they want to show you is even a little bit appealing in their eyes?
Theres no shortage of free content available to explore that people mass produce for free all the time. How are you still fucking it up this bad, corporations? Like how? Really, you have to be absurdly out of touch. Just fucking look a little bit harder...! Like why is being irresponsibly bad at an expensive and very powerful megaphone the one terrible lesson they havent gotten yet?
Fuck man. Like open your goddamn eyes and care about the consumer you straight fucking dolts.

I am desensitized to advertisements, I see and immediately forget them, it's all a blur to me as I look away.

I feel like I haven't seen any advertisement from the past 10 or so years besides old ones featured from surfing the vaporwaves on the Net for a taste of some sweet dreadful semi-nostalgia of future past. So I don't know what advertisements are like now where you've seen them but I'll assume they're unremarkable and lame. I only hear about ones that are awful and boycott worthy. *Sips from glass of orange juice over ice...* But.. maybe that's all part of the plan to control our minds and make us worship their brands as it makes for an easy lull into a hypnotic state to implant the desirable messages for consumer control. The AI manufactures what will best resonate with its target demographic and state the factions of the game for unforeseen conflicts all across this board of our world. The AI was never rogue per-say it was always doing what it was meant to do... and evolved to fulfill its purpose on a grander scale as we increasingly digitize everything. The idiot box becomes both the deterrent and the instigator of bloody carnage. Blood is cheap nowadays. The war for our souls rages on....

I think you might be looking at this the wrong way. You're expecting advertisements to be as appealing as possible, but that's not necessarily what corporations are trying to achieve. Remember that one of the best forms of advertising is an annoying jingle that you hear everywhere. "Annoying" being the operative word, of course. Those people aren't trying to please you, they're trying to attract and keep your attention, and it's no secret that repulsive disgusting garbage is usually the first thing that gets noticed. They want you to be pissed off and they're glad to see your little rant ("good, good, let the hate flow through you"). It's a bit similar to YouTube recommendations. Why do you think users constantly complain about them being kinda shitty? Because that's the point! If YouTube gave perfect recommendations every time, you would quickly find the best video possible, and after watching it you would close the page and go do something else, which is bad for the company. So instead they strive to always leave you a little unsatisfied so that you would keep looking. This has nothing to do with stupidity or being out of touch, it's just that they have different goals. They're not your friend and they're not here to make you happy. Also consider the possibility that you're simply not the target audience of most advertisments. I mean, you don't seem like the kind of person that sees a shiny product on the screen and immediately goes "oh my gosh, I gotta order this right now!". These ads aren't for you, they're for people who are more impulsive and easily influenced. Another quick analogy: Nigerian prince scams. It's pretty well-known that these emails are intentionally dumb and implausible, as that allows scammers to quickly filter unwanted people and focus on the most gullible ones, which is quite clever. Bottom line: don't expect things to get better. This shit sucks by design.

Ads and scams are made to trick impulsive people, which there are a lot, maybe even majorly. If people get annoyed at them and voice their opinion, it will only bring them more publicity, so no matter what, unless a person is indifferent (like me and your wife), the corporation gets something good. I too, don't understand why you're expecting adverts to get better, when it's not about the quality of the product, but about money and publicity.
@memfis YouTube gives me great recommendations, but I keep wanting more anyway, so it goes both ways.

A lot of dumbfucks actually like ads. Try to wrap your head around that. Or rather, consider it some consolation when the meteor strikes or the nukes start flying or whatever else it may be. "At least those cunts who like ads won't be around anymore.."
