I didn't work on this one so I can't provide any specific insight per map. I don't know if you're familiar with doombuilder, but if you open up the maps in in any wad you're stuck in, you can press F3 to go to "Find and Replace" mode. In the Search Type field, select "Sector Effect" and in Find What type the number 9. This will locate all the secret sectors on the map for you. (Even though you've probably seen them with the IDDT cheat alread) If it's a tricky secret you'll likely have to look at the "Sector Tag" numbers in the surrounding area and look around the map editor for what linedefs are tagged to them. These are likely switches or walkover lines that will do something to reveal the secret.

I ENCOUNTERED A SPECHIT OVERFLOW WHILE PLAYING MAP 04. This occurs when the arachnotron warps in to the starting area - sorry I can't be more specific.
I was playing map 04 and it was too dark so I switched to GLBoom. I have all my warnings on so whenever there is an overflow it will tell me. I haven't played the other maps with PrBoom so I dunno if there are any other overflows but I will go back and play the entire WAD with this source port and let you guys know if I find anything else

Also thanks for the help on how to find secrets. It took some testing out but I figured out how to do it, I think: locate the secret area, identify what doors need to be opened to get there (I still find this easier to do in-game with IDCLIP), enter Sectors Mode in Doom Builder and identify the Tag of that door, press F3 and select Linedef Tags and type the tag number in, and it will locate the switch or whatever that needs to be activated to open the door.

I found another overflow on map 6, when triggering the "super secret" with the megasphere. It happened twice while playing normally, but I failed to take note of what kind of overflow it was, so I tried to replicate it by running straight there in a new run but no overflow happened. Then when you end map 6 and go into map 7 there is a reject overflow
edit: I don't know what any of these overflows actually mean, so let me know if I should stop reporting them
Another spechit overflow on map seven as you grab the rocket launcher

I know that in GzDoomBuilder-Bugfix (cannot upgrade to UltimateDoomBuilder, as that requires a newer .NET) you can: - hover mouse over a tagged sector and the editor will show which linedefs operate it by drawing arrows from linedefs to sector - hover mouse over a linedef that has a tag and it will show which sectors this linedef operates upon (again, by drawing arrows from linedef to each sector)
There are also other reasons I use GzDoomBuilder-Bugfix (rather than Doom Builder X), like convenient multi-port testing, for example. The dropdown selector that allows to select difficulty and run the map (the one next to run button) allows to select a port in the same fashion (you can configure several ports rather than one in Tools->Game Configurations window, on the Testing tab). Whenever you are in sectors or linedefs mode, all tagged sectors have their tag written inside them, and all sectors with effects will have their effects written as well (abbreviated if not zoomed in, for example T4 means sector tagged 4, if there is not enough space to write even that, the sector will simply have "+", while zooming in may show "Tag 4").
Of course, GZdoomBuilder family of editors seems to be bloated with features at first, and I wouldn't recommend to a newbie just starting mapping, for example, but since I used Doom Builder 2 and Doom Builder X before, I was already aware what I need and what I don't need for vanilla mapping, so I made the switch because to GZDoomBuilder-Bugfix of the above features. Doom Builder X is a good editor, though, with its own features that GzDoomBuilder-Bugfix doesn't have (such as writing a script to generate geometry, although I never used this).

TY I will download that program - I don't build maps, at least not yet, I just use the editor to figure out how to get to secret areas that I can't otherwise figure out in-game.
I decided I want to play all the "most important" WADs before I start mapping - of course what is "most important" is entirely subjective and isn't even well-defined by myself, but I've only played a few wads and megawads so I'm gonna keep playing for now. I only recently started getting "serious" about Doom. I used to think that multiplayer games are more exciting and diverse than single-player but after virtually never playing any single-player games for a decade and almost exclusively only playing multiplayer FPS, multiplayer has gotten stale. I also discovered speedrunning on youtube, and, though I'm not a speedrunner, I do love the "high" I get from achieving and recording deathless runs of maps and map sets that I really like. Doing a deathless UV run of DBP20 is my next goal. I'm sure I'm not the first person to achieve the run, but I think I will be the first person to post the run on youtube!

I did it! I will upload it to youtube soon. Here is the demo file. It's about 54 minutes long and it uses the idgames release version. I think uploads on anonfile only last 30 days. Where should I upload it permanently? anonfile.com/ZbH1o6t1oc/DBP20_54somethingbyRonC_lmpThere so many mistakes that make me look like a bad player lol. But at least I did it! It was recorded on Crispy Doom. I'd recommend watching it on GLBoom+ (-complevel 2) so you can fast forward
I was going to go for all secrets but I rushed to the exit on map 7 and forgot one! I'll have to record another one with 100% secrets.

doomshack.org/ is a nice site for purposes like this if they are doom-related. Accepts wads, demos, both development and release versions and, if I understand correctly, these are stored forever (yeah, people even post wads in-development there and these are treated just as good as a released wad).
