Hi guys!
Dug out this little map from almost 3 years ago (finished on 28th April 2017). It was supposed to go into joe-ilya's Going Nowhere Fast project that really did go nowhere. Such is fate eh? Anyway this is actually a nice little map and I didn't want it to go nowhere as well.
SuXe (doesn't really mean anything) Requires a boom compatible port and cc4-tex. Is in the map08 slot.
Wild West themed. To my knowledge the first wild west map in this century, not even kidding. Is quite tight with ammo because I guess it was cool at the time. Would triple the amounts given if I were doing it now. Has two switches on tables that unlock keys that they depict. Pay attention to those please. Would've made them 3x more obvious if I were doing it now. Fun fact: while initially making this map I was listening to this song on loop all night. Another fun fact: I was 16 when I made this map holy shit. I was basically a completely different person back then. Sorry to everyone who remembers me from those days, heh! I have uploaded it onto idgames, just so that people think I still make maps. Music is "havana smooth" by Lee Jackson, from the Rise of the Triad OST. Would change it if I were doing it now lol.

Post screenshots next time. i.imgur.com/tY2A5mfm.pngA bland and unfinished looking map, the terrain is non-existent, just a flat plane and the rest of the map also looks bland, at least there's a bit of doomcute in some buildings. The gameplay mostly consists of watching a wide array of different enemies infight with each other outside, or using the chaingun to kill various mid-tier enemies. Questionable progression, for some reason there's an arrow outside, switches that enable other switches, unmarked switch that requires to be shot with a key. Awkward movement inside some of the buildings, particularly the first one where you can barely take the shotgun that's guarded by imps and have to klll a hell knight with it. Only a couple of cool things in this map : Doomcute, the way to get the blue key, the way to get to the exit. I would've rejected the map if you told me it was finished.

Nice map Right off the bat it reminded me of the Fistful of Doom WAD and would feel right at home with those resources. I enjoyed it but would have enjoyed it more if there were some more supplies to dish out the carnage. The inside of the buildings were really tight which caused me some trouble at the start without many weapons, and some impassible lines made it even tighter. I did like having to use the monster turrets to infight with the barons though. I did get to jump around though because I was using the superior port of (G)Zdoom to play since I couldn't crispy crunch this map. The animated swinging door effect was cool, and you even used it twice! Nice MIDI too of course

the terrain is non-existent Bro you made the wild west theme Awkward movement inside some of the buildings, particularly the first one Yep I'm not the most proud of that Only a couple of cool things in this map : Doomcute, the way to get the blue key, the way to get to the exit. Thanks both! it reminded me of the Fistful of Doom WAD Yep, that's like the only place to draw inspiration from in this setting. Nice MIDI too of course LMAO for some reason this was said in a way that sounds as if it was your work

I realize the theme is wild Western, but that doesn't mean you should be lazy with the terrain.
You could've put cacti, trenches, graves, mud, distant mountains, wells, and caves, as well as intuitive ways to get inside buildings beside doors, such as piles of crates to jump into windows, or underdug holes, or some jumping between buildings. Some shadows behind buildings, or dark, tight alleys.
Visually, this could run on vanilla and still have more room for detail.

that doesn't mean you should be lazy with the terrain. ...but that's my signature style!!!Jokes aside those are actually all some sick suggestions. Honestly I've never even thought about any one of those. If I ever decide to double the number of Wild West maps made in this century I will definitely take notice of that. Thanks!
