I've been neglecting this gem for so so long. I thought it sucked lol. Well it doesn't, it's actually the most fun game I've played in ages. For the last 3 or 4 days I've been staying up till very late playing it. Right now it's 4:28 am and I've completed the game like 10 minutes ago.
The plot is pretty good for a shooter game, with enough questions and surprises, the characters are cool, and all of them are even VOICED. (the voices.wad is a bit tricky to find though)
The game's even got three endings: the shit one, the ok one and the good one!! I got the ok one in my playthrough, but I don't plan on bothering to get the good one anytime soon lol. I've ruined my sleep schedule enough.
The weapons are also very fun and there's a lot of them, with several of them having something like an alt fire (alternate fire mode, requires its own ammo though).
There's also a lot of enemies and they are mostly very fun as well, except the ceiling mounted turret which can eat a dick. Also they are in general significantly more dangerous than in Doom, they can strip off a lot of your health in milliseconds, I'm not a good measure though, I play on ITYTD xd, I also savescummed the shit out of the game
Also it's very comfortable to play in ZDoom with mouselook. When it comes to Doom I'm a vanilla guy to the death but here I decided to go more casual. (the vanilla game has keyboard look)
Anyway, my point is, this game is great and if you haven't played it yet, I really recommend you to set aside some time to try it out. I'm sure you won't regret it, too much at least. I found it more fun than Doom (but Doom's a really special one for us here so idk if I can make an adequate comparison) and also it's about a zillion times more engaging than Heretic. Idk about Hexen, should I try out or as well?
All in all a solid 9/10 for me, tell me your opinions!
