If a mod acts like an asshole then maybe they shouldn't be a mod and maybe they should get banned. I don't give a single shit that Dew's an asshole to me, what I do care about is that the rules are not applied fairly. |

Dude, you're not getting it. he's the other mods and admins attack dog, and if he targeted you it was with the full complicit approval of all of the above. He is a man of no character and quite literally a bitch, and you were targeted for deletion by those above him. Learn and recognise.

They obviously need someone to do their dirty work so all the eventual insults, backlash and possible outrage (i.e. if people were to be mad someone was banned unfairly) can be directed at their bitch and not at them directly. For the record Dew doesn't just suck in general he also sucks at Doom. I was part of WDL (I think it's called?) at some point and he participated in some DM contests and he was everyone's bitch there, too!

Heh, it was funny to watch him go on a shitposting rampage on DW after the multyplayer subforum was opened. I know nothing about the Doom multyplayer/competitive scene but I'm quite sure there's enough drama that discovering it would be like opening the Pandora's box.

I meant no ill intent by that comment, was mostly taking a jab at Darknation's trolly and somewhat rough personality. I was also shining a light on how his behaviour was significantly worse than others on doomworld that ended up being banned... I actually like him, and I like "dogshit behaviour" as I put it, if we all behaved all the time things would be rather boring. I even pleaded doomworld to unban him, remember?
I didn't mean to piss anyone off with that remark. Anyways, now that I made all that clear, I'm actually curious what you mean about me being full of shit and how I'm not banned. During my history of posting on forums, I don't remember being toxic, trolly or anything else. The only time I was ever close to a permaban was on Skulltag/Zandronum, mainly because I used to rage a lot, but that was over three years ago. You could accuse me of being boring or aloof, sure, but ban-worthy? |

40oz curiously has the banned status on his profile, but not on his posts. Newer bans like Joe-ilya and DoomRO don't have the banned status anywhere. This is what I hate the most about doomworld. Admins want to ban people...sure, go for it. It's your site. But don't be fucking cowards! |

banning for personal reasons mostly works. You know yourself within 12 seconds if someone you meet is worth speaking to or not. Being a forum mod is pretty much the same thing.
Let's say you go the other way and start protecting people because of their "status"... well, that's intersectional banning policy. You start making allowances because the people of that "status" have historically been annoying / depressed / pedophiles, and that individual deserves a break... this is a mistake. You are letting people get away with bad behavior because of percentiles. Once those fucks become a critical mass, the forum is fucked. It polices itself according to an ideology, not on individual personalities.
An additional factor to remember when reaching for the ban button is whether or not that person has the potential to grow into a decent community member or not: lest we forget, Ravage got the Furry beaten out of him in the early years (I dunno if he backslid or not). I still rate him as a decent community member.
