I love the wads that members from the French Doom community come up with. Swift Death, 3 Heure's D'Agonie, And The Bloodshed Began, Endless Torture, Tangerine Nightmare... all of them are great examples of what Doom mapping means to me. The difficulty is outstanding, the artistic flare is beautiful, and the commitment to limit removing versus the extraneous features of modern source ports means they love Doom for what it is and not what it should have been.

I havent played too many french wads, but im liking what i have seen so far. Especially after "Swift death", which immediately puts Franck on my favorite mappers list. He has a mastery over the doom bestiary, and can create such good looking levels with stock resources. Ive also played "20 years of doom", and plenty of those mappers looks promising. Yugiboy looks also to be a competent one, "Travelling to the moon" and "Crimson wood" aint too shaby. Tangerine nightmare looks awesome, wish more French projects are like that! (3ha is gud and all, but speedmaps man).
....I thought for the longest time that Darkwave0000 is French (considering he is on a french fourm and speaks french and all), but thats not the case apparently as i asked Joshy and he says Darkwave0000 is from "america", but not american so im assuming hes from the america continent.

I wish there were more small sub-communities like this. I think only French and Japanese communities have their own forums.

There was an italian forum that now is kinda dead and disappeared, and even 4 years ago when I discovered it was already a ghost town. I think that also the czechs have a small forum.
