Weird math problem.
I have a sum of 1836.78
This sum is made up of (15.82 * x) + (16.93 * y).
The condition is that I know x and y can either be whole numbers or relatively simple fractions like 5.5 or 3.25 etc, as opposed to something crazy like 8.195145757308591)
1836.78 / 15.82 = 116.1049304677623 1836.78 / 16.93 = 108.4926166568222
There's some combination of 15.82 and 16.93 that fit neatly in 348.87 and I can't figure out what it is. Is there a solution to this that doesn't require me testing every possible permutation until I finally get what I want?

Hm.
If we do this:
15.82 + 16.93 = 32.75
1836.78 / 32.75 = 56.08488549618321
We have found out that x + y = 56.08488549618321
...Which can be rounded down to a few decimals, such as [56.1] or [56.08] if you like. You could divide them to X and Y values before that, of course. It depends on how accurate you need them to be. But I'm a bit puzzled by your query, so maybe this isn't what you were looking for?
