Are you sure? This guy regularly plays DBPs and records UV-Max playthroughs of them on his youtube channel. Also this is called 'exaggeration'. He says the DBPs are basically speedmapping projects and imo he's right in a way because it usually takes a lot more than 1 or 2 months to make a mapset, even if it's not a whole megawad. Idk how you can conflate statements like 'DBPs are basically speedmapping projects' with 'DBPs are shitty speedmaps made in a month'. This guy obviously likes DBPs and his comment doesn't imply anything like 'omg, it would've been much better if it took longer to make DBPs because then they'd have functional difficulty settings lmao'.

Well, I meant to say that this DreadWanderer guy is definitely not one of those /vr/ autists.

Don't really see how DBPs could be considered speedmapping in any way. It's one, now two months for a single map, sometimes two, rarely three - that pace would translate to between 3 and 6 years for a full megawad, which is more Mordeth than speedmapping. If a person was to make a full DBP-sized set *alone* perhaps.
