Lol ah fuck I'm on that UAC 2 thread. I think that was one instance where I was really trying to be helpful instead of a cuntwad. In retrospect, I liked UAC 2 more after multiple plays.

Well your first post in that thread wasn't very helpful now was it?  I gave UAC Ultra 2 another playthrough the other day and it does hold up as its own unique experience. Bleak environments and oppressive atmosphere, 40 stumbled onto something different and good here, shame he gave up on it and continued making smaller safe cookie cutter maps. Ya hear me 40 you cunt, continue making shit like this if you're still alive, forget about your user friendly popcorn maps! |

Isn't Csonicgo one of the guys who decided he's a woman now? Gives an odd twist to his posts in AndrewC's first topic.
UAC2 definitely managed to create its own atmosphere you don't see anywhere else in Doom mapping. It feels similarly unique to RYLAYEH, mapsets that stand on their own almost as a different game from Doom itself.
Edit: and then that esselfortium post in the second thread. The irony is too much.

I have to admit, I found the moralising about fertility quite funny when you consider what those people went on to do. In fact, reading those threads, I'm broadly on AndrewB's side. I do hate children, though, and would consider having an accidental one a good excuse to leave my current life forever.

PH was mostly full of stuff that wasn't so entertaining to read but digging to find the good threads was a nice pastime, thanks for sharing those glenzinho.
I was able to read this thread when you posted it, but I guess it was hidden in a short time. I'm a bit baffled about that. Not related to DW but that thread made me think of when the internet still used to have fun. |
