Why are so many people involved in the Doom community lesbian, gay, trans, bisexual, queer and/or autistic? Legitimate question.
I thought Doom was mostly straight men who were either metal heads, and/or stereotypical nerds when I started.

Nerds were always outcasts even since the 60-70s (reading the book Hackers by Steven Levy, that distrust of nerd subjects and kids doing weird stuff, earlier than I thought). LGBT that came a bit later are also outcasts. Nerd spaces might have been more accepting of any outcast, as long as you are in the community and participate who cares? Nerd spaces tend to be more progressive and alternative spaces. Of course then there was hell of certain people claiming the communities were toxic and full of racism/sexism/etc, while they were always accepting of other people, but that's another story.

Not too sure about that. Nerds being inherently progressive seems like a a false dichotomy. The GOP has a lot of nerds. Encouraging working hard in school to get into good colleges to get a high paying job in finance, law, STEM, etc. Historically the left is the one that attempts to be cool, with slacker culture, free sex, drugs, etc.

True, it's hard to put labels on these things. When I was curious why some nerd community was so left leaning as to accept the whole woke cancel culture, one of the ironic answers where like "Yeah, who would have thought that a creative community would be mostly progressive leaning". It's like they implied of course those nerd communities with outcasts and creative people doing things for free and not for money will be more accepting. It's the same as with bullying, someone was implying those people were bullied so now it's the revenge of the nerds from the left. But I think, I was also bullied, why didn't I side with the cancel culture of the left? So, it's hard to put labels, there are people of all categories in all different sides.

Of course both sides have them, but I see lot of middle/high class people virtue signalling about their progressiveness and going along with the things. Also,. if nerd means working hard in school/university, I have in my mind several historical nerds who where dropouts, they would work well if focused on their special interests but not inside the system. A lot of people in doom community or other creative communities, they do most of their work for free, not for some corporation. Of course they might have a job in real life (but not always). But the spirit of these communities is doing things not for the money but other values that usually are associated with the left. But this has diffused in meaning. When I say nerds, there are communities with really clever people, but if you meet most of them, they usually have a slacker attitude, creatives that also happen to be very clever with computers, so they share both the nerd stereotype and the sense of freedom, doing things they want not as a job but for other motivation.

Nerd is a pretty dubious term. I even consider myself a nerd, how else could you describe a person that makes sci-fi mods for a computer game? However, i dont exhibit many of the other stereotypical attributes. Nerds come in all forms. A lot of metal heads are nerds imo.
But getting back on topic, it is really an anecdote to say most people in the Doom community are LGTBQ and/or autistic. Though, if I were to make a bet, I say most people are definitely autistic. Going by the study more often than not, autistic people are LGTBQ. Ergo, it is fair to say there are many LGTBQ in the Doom community. Not because most LGTBQ are autistic, but because more often than not autistic people are LGTBQ.

If there are so many LGBT people in the community, how come I don't have a cute trans gf with a big girldick that likes pegging yet? Checkmate, liberals.

I believe at some point the out cast faggy teenagers of 2000's-2010's found a new retro game to identify with, and then tried to take over the community. And for the old gays, it seems like just some fags back in the 90's who waited to come out. Also a weird thing, i see next to no black people in the community, and that kind of undermines the supposed enclusivetay in my opinion, so it seems like half of the poupulation of America avoid this community, i guess for the better. Kinda dissapointing, but then again, Americans only remembered that black people are people back in the 70's, so they we're probably busy finding jobs and getting their life toghether, as opposed to playing lots of vidya.

Real talk though, the majority of LGBT-identifying people in this community are neither L, nor G, nor B. I really don't think sexual orientation is a factor at all. I believe it's more the desire to be accepted, or trend chasing, or just plain ol' autism, or trauma, idk. There's also the fluorine in the tap water and the Jews actively trying to destroy western susiety.1 In fact I can think of only two LGB people I've seen in the Coom dommunity -- one is Nine inch heels and I forget the name of the other guy. Whereas we can all name at least a dozen of hot sexy dickgirls like mommy Esselfortium.
And as for autism I think the correlation is pretty obvious: autistic people struggle with real-world relationships and interactions so they prefer virtual ones, and an easy way to have that is gaming and the Internet.

I think most of us who post on video game forums are probably at least semi-autistic. But it's shocking how many transies there are on dw. To the point where I'm assuming it's been designated a safe-space for them. Basically anyone with an anime girl avatar is probably a T or Q or ?.

It's true that when you look photos of nerd conventions for example back in the 70-80-90s (or even today sometimes) in whatever community from gaming to programming, it mostly happened to be white and male. It bugs me though that it's mentioned like it's a negative thing, in the sense that there must have been some racism involved. One could make a claim that there is a reason related to unfairness but not targeted to the nerd community itself. They way it's presented is like "look how toxic those communities were for having only white guys". Which is not true.
Inclusivity to me means that the doors were open. No person of other sex or race enter the community to not be accepted. It didn't matter! Now, there might be other reasons why you didn't see as many blacks and my best guess is economic reasons. Creative hobbies in computers are a luxury. They evolved in countries which were more affluent. It must have been that black populations happened to be less wealthy (for reasons that geeks were not responsible). Or others say it's culture, I don't know. But my guess is still wealth and class. Most nerds are not from low income families.
My other example is the demoscene, a community I was and still am involved. That's an even more weird luxury hobby. It's a hobby for the middle or upper class. In which countries was it more popular? Central and northern Europe. Scandinavian countries. I always wondered why certain countries in the world attract the most nerds of special interest hobbies. And here is my other grievance. The same countries and the same middle-upper class people enter the hobby spaces and rant about the communities being toxic and not diverse. You never see a low class person being invested in the whole cultural/political discussion, let alone having the time or money for special interest hobbies.

Im fairly sure that autistic people and LGBTQ people were on doom forums pretty much the entire time, (though its not unusual for people conceal these aspects of their indentities or discover them later in life.) Autism is a cognitive disability and it can be a challenge sometimes but its a superpower other times.
One difference ive noticed is that neurotypical people (non-autistic) can hear something they are uncomfortable with and confidently say "aaahh thats bullshit" with no followthrough, or get angry and aggressive when prodded about it.
For autistic people, that kind of behavior is pretty much off the table. When hearing something we'd perceive as uncomfortable or too weird, autistic people tend to get hyperfocused on researching these topics they dont understand to prepare themselves to possibly talk about it when asked. They ask a lot of important 'why' questions. Neurotypical people can research stuff too, obviously, but autistic people almost cant avoid latching onto something that has a breadth of stuff to learn about because not knowing things is a very uncomfortable nagging feeling -- a keen awareness of a conversational vulnerability that might make them look stupid later. There probably is an autistic person who can explain this better but i think im at least on the right track.
Where some people think LGBTQ+ acceptance on the internet is getting out of control; for autistic people there usually isnt a "whoa this is going to far" theshold for them. Its always an opportunity to learn. Gender identities and sexual orientations are one of those things.
If youre a woman and sick with a hoarse voice calling your doctor, it can be insulting to have the receptionist call you sir. Or if youre a boy and told you play sports like a girl can be insulting. Gender identities are important in socializing safely with each other so its important to be informed.
Neurotypical fear and aggression towards non-binary gender identities isn't validated by anything in science. That behavior is generally only accepted by people who often wouldnt accept many types of people, including autistic people, on the basis that they look and act differently than themselves.

Pushing of trans-acceptance so hard is working so well that trans suicide rate has been climbing quite steeply. Of course suicide rates are climbing for lots of people due to everything sucking for many people, mostly since the Wuhan flu and lockdowns started which ruined lives combined with even more economic sabotage and blackballing of people.

Seems like some autistic people have slightly higher percentages of both highly intelligent, and mentally challenged people.

But when it comes to geniuses, above 129 IQ, Autistic people are only marginally higher than non-ASD.
It seems that Autistic people are surely substantially above average more often than non-ASD. But not when it comes to truly being a genius.
