I'll go first:
1. Too much incidental combat (monsters standing around, not sniping or summoned via linedef actions) 2. Not enough lift actions used as doors

1. too much "artistic" maps (hyperdetailed, extra huge, etc) 2. not enough cooperation between sourceports to create (and accept! ;-) common specs for various advanced things

I know that's just the tip of the ice berg for a source port developer like you. 1. too much "medium" lighting (sector lighting 112-160) 2. not enough health

1. Too many "standards" across ports that are really just re-inventing whats already been done better previously. 2. Not enough EDGE maps.

1. one thing there's too much of - platforming of any kind (bonus entry allowed? wads that copy sunlust) 2. one thing there's not enough of - wads with an on screen narrative like Going Down.
I say both those things while sat in a glasshouse marked 'he's never made a wad in his life'.

Plus some people just don't have resource-rich computers to play some of these maps even if they are GZDoom. There should be cooperation for the boom-compatible ports cause I like to play some of those Boom-compatible slaughtermaps with weapon mods in ZDoom ports and I cannot do that with some sets like igetityoulikehordesofmonstersandsuperrichdetailbutplayabilitywiseitsverylimitedandiliketoplayslaughtermapswithweaponmodstospiceupgameplayandexperiencebuticantplayatagoodfpslevelifyoustackfivehundredhealthbonusesontopofonetointentionallymakethegamelaginmypreferredportforweaponmods.

Too many DBPs Not enough one-man episode WADs (of similar quality and in the original doom1/2 format) While the DBPs are something truly special, it would be fun to see what all these talented authors would dream up when left to their own devices.
