Wow did you see how fast I dropped down to 10% health? whoa. Can't believe I survived after that. Very cool, short, and snappy opener. I love these brown METAL2 variants. Very "army base" looking. Not much to add. The map is good.
Also a very cool, nice and short map. No notes about this one. Plays great!
This map is awesome. The music choices are hittin' me in the feels. I feel like a real space marine! I had a lot of fun with this. Lots of explosive action. Blasted through everything no problem. You're really good at making Doom feel like Doom.
Another great one. Maybe some extra shells in the beginning, but other than that, this was a lot of fun. I feel like I'm gonna burn through this megawad pretty quick. I remember last time I played some of your maps, I was thinking to myself I really like your maps except that some of the hard ones are really long and drawn out. It's really nice to see you've got a great start here with some really nice short and easy maps with fun layouts. Keep it up!
Wow, super shotgun and full ammo right at the start, hell yeah! This layout is great. I love that these maps are taking me less than 10 minutes to beat. There is no wasted time in this mapset whatsoever. I can move very quickly and freely, and none of the encounters overstay their welcome. Very nice job
Starting to get a little spicier. Still having a lot of fun though!
Can't believe I slept on this wad for so long. I'm having a great time. I'm able to move and navigate these traps and puzzles so organically. There's a really strong sense of place in this wad so far. Even though theres a lot of plutonia textures here, it doesn't feel like a Plutonia mapset. The textures used here really give this wad its own identity. It feels like it's own planet. Have you been nominated for mapper of the year yet?
BOATS! First death of the run, so far. Just playing a little sloppy, had no qualms about jumping right back in the game. I really liked how the first half of the boat had the symmetrical pac-man-like crate layout with symmetrical thing placement, while the second half was more randomized. Great map. Loved that yellow liferaft at the end too.
Lol I forgot to get the blue key. Did you see that pet revenant rocket I was walking? Can't believe I wasted it like that. Oh well. Woulda been fun to smash that mancubus with it. Ya know, I've always kinda hated that red brick texture you used on those roofs. But blue bricks? BOLD! It works here. I don't know anyone who could pull off blue bricks like you do. This villa is pretty awesome. I haven't played Doom maps in a while by a mapper that is this aware of how fast Doom is. It feels like a mario kart track. I love it.
Heh, that pickup truck looks pretty ugly. Let me know next time if you want truck textures, I'll make them for you. That tank looks pretty fantastic though. Did i just make that tank shoot the wall open?? Holy wow. Man this map set is a lot of fun.
Very cool ending! I managed to get both yellow and blue keycards out of order. I bumpgrabbed the blue one but I made sure not to open the blue door until I got it the "real" way first. When I jumped for the yellow key, I actually wasn't sure if that was the real way or not. I ended up activating the exit room a little early. I made sure to get that key the real way afterwards though. Lots of fun still
Already on to episode 2 in ~about an hour. Echoing the comments from previous maps. Very fast, very fun.
Super inmost dens! I missed the rocket launcher and had some ammo trouble about midway through the map, but I managed to backtrack and find some left over. I missed like 35 monsters in this map. I don't know where they are. I could hear them near the exit room but I don't know how to get to them. Still fun!
I can't say enough good things about this wad. One thing I forgot to mention in previous maps is I love how "automated" everything is. Doors just whip open as I approach them. The actions that happen from switch presses always make sense. The level design is never in my way, and the result is some of the smoothest, buttery gameplay I've experienced in Doom in a while. I need to start taking lessons from you. I'm supposed to go to bed now but I can't stop playing.
Simple concept, but still really fun. I really ought to be sleeping right now, so this death is where I'm gonna take a break. Can't wait to come back to this.
