Congrats on the release, guys. Joe, I liked the sunken Icon of Sin in your opening level (which is a pretty nice and chill opener).

Grats on the release Btw, you should look into the music of the wad. The wad crashes in prboom+ 2.5.1.7 on map01 even in -nomusic. Source

Nice job on the release joe. For compatibility reasons, the zip file should contain 5 files. The text file, of course, then the actual dbp36 wad file which should contain the midis only in order to maintain compatibility. The zip file should then include the music alone as an alternate soundtrack. Then two more wad files for:
bubbles.wad, which should probably probably be renamed to DBP36_bubbles_edge.wad bubblesxd.wad which should probably probably be renamed to DBP36_bubbles_zdoom.wad
then probably include some instructions on how to use the wads in the text file.

The crash only happens in the UMAPINFO fork of PRBoom+, but the original PRBoom+ and the DSDA fork don't crash. It is likely to be fixed in a future update as it's an oversight, why would a more advanced fork of PRBoom+ not be able to play non-midi music? When the original supports it and the DSDA fork proves you can still make a fork that allows for non-midi playback. This is going to remain as a single file, with both ZDoom and EDGE bubbles files inside, and both soundtracks.

Dont bother with the EDGE bubbles, this dbp is unplayable in EDGE because the music crashes it.
Its not a question of whether a port can play that format or not: the issue at least in EDGEs case is that you are using the same lump names as the Doom original music, so it expects it to be the correct format. Sort of like if you replaced the titlescreen graphic with an mp3 file, pretty sure several ports would bomb.

Does EDGE read the UMAPINFO? Because for source ports that don't read that there's midis that are named D_RUNNIN, etc.

No UMAPINFO support.
As luck would have it I have no internet access right now so I can't download to check stuff: are the music lumps in the main wad actually mus/midi? Especially any that use the original lump name.

midis and mus are called D_RUNNIN, etc.
The modules are called 1, 2, 3, etc. and are played through UMAPINFO.

just put the music in a separate file so people can opt out of it if its not working in the source port they want to play with. We obviously didn't test this with everything, so its on us. It's stupid that music is causing the maps not the run, but the music is not so important that people shouldn't be able to play our maps. We're not going to count on source port developers to make updates just because of this wad.

Just for the record, I said 2 weeks ago that the music was crashing EDGE...
And UMAPINFO is neither universal nor standard: just last year several port authors were still debating its adoption.

D_DM2INT and D_DM2TTL are the culprits in EDGEs case. They are XM and MOD but use the same names as the usual MUS Doom2 lumps. I'll see if I can get EDGE to ignore them and not crash. OK, adding this to the wad should be enough: Attachment Deleted and call the lump "DDFPLAY".

Yes, I think I should use Edge for this? I wanted to stick on GZDoom, very reluctant to change ports sometimes..

I like how this looks. Diving used to be a hobby of mine for years, so I'm obligated to play this.

Played this on coop yesterday. It was pretty fun. MAP01 is missing player 2-4 starts and the linedef trigger before you get to the red key building (the one that raises the monsters out of the blood fountains) is skippable if you jump from a weird angle, I did it a couple times by accident. Also getting everyone coordinated with using the bubbles wad was a bit of a hassle because they are in separate packages. Hope RC2 comes out soon so you can drop the bubble wads in there with it.

I have a question about this. Which engine is recommended? EDGE, GZDoom, or Eternity? Sorry if that's explained somewhere and didn't see it.
