DOWNLOAD idgames version(RC1) Forests of concrete and steel, breathing and flowing forever under the wide eye of the sun, now ruled the works of man. His own eyes watch as hummingbirds swarm their branches and feed from whirring flowers. Long since had a creature like him been to this place, and standing in the midst of this weird marriage of nature and machine, he felt himself an intruder. What happened here, to create this new earth? And what became of those responsible for this ironclad garden of earthly delights?
Before he can finish the thought, the marine's spell is broken by a thundering roar.

Cool stuff. Some of it felt like good parts of some previous DBP's mashed together. I gave each map a one-shot FDA (pistol start to death). Needless to say, I only saw half the WAD. fda download

Played on HMP mostly continuously in Crispy Doom.
MAP01: Nice opener though the AV followed by hitscan had me decide to lower from UV to HMP. MAP02: Chill map. Inoffensive but I'm glad it exists. MAP03: Cool map though I got lost with the progression teleportation for a while. MAP04: This is a techbase alright. The plasma rifle in the blue key room is a bit pointless since I think you can get one normally in the map. Shopkeeper was easy to trigger since I thought he was a monster from far away though the Archvile that spawns can't do much there. This map reminds me of Bioshock. MAP05: You're free to plasma and be almost invulnerable or at least free to be aggressive and reckless. Good collab map. MAP06: Best map of the set for me. Nice challenge though I liked it less when the flesh part happened to murdererize me with all the monsters and nasty blood. I want to compliment An0n again on his seemingly naturally great mapping ability. MAP07: Was shorter than I thought it was gonna be (which is totally fine and I like that) and it was pretty alright though I should have looked for a rad suit assuming there's one somewhere or on some difficulty setting. MAP08: I'm convinced it's impossible to beat this without mouselook since I pistol started this and could only chip away at the buff dinosaur by splash damaging his lips. Other weapons practically useless too. I ended up IDKFA'ing twice after running out of ammo to keep shooting BFG balls while practicing the right position to use Doom's inherent autoaim feature until he finally died. The constant turret fire was alright since none of it was a homing attack. MAP09: I wish the credits were easier to find since I decided to noclip to find more including Joe's and my own which were tucked up out of the way.
I love the maps you guys crafted and overall visuals but hate the new slightly buff glass cannon imp and how all the greenery detail while pretty can be intrusive with obscuring the map sometimes.

Thanks for the feedback! Try shooting the boss from angles like 45 degrees when on the move, you don't wanna be stationary in front of him shooting centre on anyways. Chaingun works great on him too, albeit slower, but the pain sound is cooler that way You only need about 13 or 14 rockets to defeat him and there’s 35+ provided... if your aim is off, the chaingun or even single shotty will finish him off fairly easily once you’ve worked out the sweet spots.

The imps were more dangerous than I thought with the new attack after I started to advance in the wad, and the barons are very tricky when you don't have the RL or the PR to take down with the SSG.
MAP01: I liked that you come back later here in the credit map. I think I missed the change of the WolfSS, with those sounds they are quite spooky and by reflex I think I get hurt instead. The exit is a bit weird looking since you can clearly see the "cardboard forest" but at least it ties very nicely with the next map.
MAP02: Good ambiance and you did well with all those mid textures,
MAP03: Best map of the set. I think that Scrangus is improving a lot on building a gameplay that is more serviceable while still retaining a strong atmosphere. The giant tree really stand out and it nice that can see t before ven getting the key the get inside it. I only think that the cacos that should storm inside the tree from outside don't work so much as intended to me, as many had troubles to get inside.
MAP04: Hardest map, got few close calls here. Many parts are interconnected and the layout makes it diffcult to understand where it takes until can find some time to breath. I wish I noticed the RL when I get to ti since I really needed but seeing all boxes of rockets made me say "nope", at least I did well to escape from there and the BK trap too.
MAP06: Took me while to conquer the first areas and finally being able to get to the keys. The lack of armor for the first half is weird because it seems that this map would encourage you to be more aggressive but the lack of armor and the low health require a slower and safer approach. It gets more fun when you can reach the RL. The flesh city was cool.
MAP07: Another well executed concept from Billy, it really feels like you are in a nightmare, topped with some wtf moments.
MAP08: It's kinda cute, sector bosses are underrated imo. Godzilla's scream sure make an impression.

No demo for your own map? Fo'shame bro :'( Softlock in yours and Cup's map: You get stuck in that area if you fall off. Also I'd like to suggest a quality-of-life improvement as Bill terms it, like a teleporter that lowers once you reach that bunker hell platform so if you fall off you don't have to do all that backtracking to get back to this point.

Cheers bro! For those doubting the boss map autoaim, here's a couple of demos I recorded: downloadOne demo using rocket launcher only and for shits and giggles another using (mostly) chaingun and single shotgun.

@glenzinho Please don't hide the X marks on the automap in my map, it makes the computer area map secret pointless, those crosses are supposed to mark where the secrets are and make the map feel a bit like a treasure hunt.

Finally played all of this as one continuous set. I'm struggling to choose between MAP06 or MAP07 as my favourite, as they both do really well for looks and a fair challenge using both themes. MAP07 gets bonus points for story, but MAP06 has that great difficulty ramp at the start...
Biggest pleasant surprise was by joe-ilya. Looks great and is light, breezy fun. Looks like all of that experience is paying off!
Glen's maps seems a touch easier than when I first tested them - the boss map is now frantic but much easier for me to land a hit on in GZDoom with mouselook (beforehand, on a pistol start, I found it impossible to kill).
supercupcaketactics definitely has the most obvious authorial stamp for me - as soon as I got to the latter-half of his collaboration with gaspe, I recognised the chaotic styling.
All told, a gorgeous set of maps and fairly enjoyable, too. Difficulty felt high in MAP03 on a first play, with all of the enemies around corners and teleporting in close by, which wasn't so much of an issue on the second attempt. MAP05 also had a bit where some spectres and demons teleport in right behind you when you've gone through the blue key door/lift, which screwed me a bit, as I was trying to back up away from the Pain Elementals to the side and unknown situation ahead. Early grumblings on Doomworld about the surprisingly high difficulty are warranted, IMO, but the set is short enough that a few attempts at harder parts isn't unreasonable.

I just replayed the mapset and got into a bullshit situation in MAP05, I was teleported onto the yellow key ledge only to be greeted with a cybruiser that killed me instantly. In MAP06 at the red key trap there's too many of those trees that obstruct my view and I ended up taking a rev fireball that I didn't see.

Yeah initially the teleport was further in the area and I got killed that exact same way so I thought teleporting on the yellow key ledge would fix that or at least give more reaction time.

You nailed the "nature + cyber" theme, it's really nice. The first DBP I played was #20, and I loved it. I'd give it a very strong 8/10; only reason it's not a 9 or 10 is because I want more maps in that theme! #22 is the second one I've played. I love the theme and the music. You guys get a 10/10 in originality, but I keep getting lost in the maps so I still haven't beaten it yet I didn't get lost in maps 1 or 2, but I got lost a lot in 3, 4, and 5. I'm on 6 now
