Long songs that repeat the same couple of chords for about a minute before moving to a couple more chords for another minute aren't any less melodic than minute long songs with the same few chords repeated throughout.
Boring song that doesn't even fit as background music as synths and random distorted voice clips are constantly droning in.

Starts out as if it were intentionally cringy and bad, becomes nice when the singing starts. The solos were still kinda meh though.

Vocals have an impressive range accompanied with rasp which is the only good part about the song, sadly the instruments don't do it justice as it sounds like generic Trap.

Eh, forgettable, generic dance club music, though it did greatly amuse me once I realized that the main riff is taken from NIN's The Hand That Feeds, so there's that, ROFL.

Chill background jazz, but not something I'd listen to, wish the singer sang in a lower tone and that the vocal layering would line up properly as it was too distracting IMO.

The beginning was nice, it kinda sounded almost anime, but the vocalist ruined it. He sounds like he should be singing in a chucky cheese commercial.

Impressive raw vocals with a good range of lows and highs, and memorable tunes made with an interesting mix of Funk, Folk and Jazz.
Definitely interested in their other material.

The vocals really caught me off guard, to the point that it was a little difficult to focus on the musical qualities. Maybe I could get accustomed to them after a few replays and start to enjoy the dark mood created by that strong bass.

The mixing of the vocals is a little too loud than the instruments, and the Engrish really catches me off guard.
The tunes and the beats are very nice though, so there's that.

It was funny for the first couple of minutes, but then it just kept doing the same fucking thing for another 4 minutes, with maybe 2 or 3 short verses to break off the monotony very slightly.
I could enjoy it if I was drunk like you though.

I don't understand the popularity of Neil Cicierega. Weren't YTPMV makers doing better and more creative remixes in like 2008? I guess they were too hardcore for the big crowd though. But anyway, this is a fun edit and the part where it cuts to that TV show is pretty clever.

The horns are mixed too loudly compared to the rest of the music, I had to lower my sound significantly to make it listenable. Excuse me, but this is a song for patients in a mental hospital by the same people, no redeeming qualities in here except for that one tiny part right at the end. I'm not even impressed by the female singer's lower tones, because they just sound like Fat Albert, not really something I'd want to listen to personally. Weren't YTPMV makers doing better and more creative remixes in like 2008? Not really, I mean, taking little clips to recreate a song is creative, but that's all YTPMV is about; just that, maybe some people were a bit more creative and actually made original songs out of randomly picked clips, but that's about it. Neil isn't making just YTPMVs, he's making mashups too, amongst other things in his albums, this track for example is YTP-ish, but it's not as rough as CS188's music YTPs, in this track Neil picked seperated tracks from Wonderwall instead of just picking one stuffed track with all the instruments and vocals combined, that whole separation thing allows for better flow and fidelity, something YTPers didn't do and were limited to make YTPs with music instead of making music with music. |
