Necessary context for poll question:
What do you do when you have argued your point ad nauseum, provide all of the necessary evidence to prove your point; the opponent fails to do so, and in fact verifies their own bias?

That's how I feel, but I would probably end up arguing sporadically, almost like guerilla warfare. However, that's exhausting.

Some people won't be convinced.
When debating on a public forum, I feel like the goal is not to convince my opponent, or to score "a win" against them, but to present an argument that might convince other readers, who do not directly engage in the debate.
Thus, I might continue a while even after I see that the opponent is not beyond my reach, or just trolling. Surely, if I had been discussing this in PMs with them, I would have stopped already, and if I had been arguing with them in real life, I would have walked away.
With that said, sometimes I get "baited" or carried away, or take things too personally, like all of us. I try to reduce these occurrences.

Never happened to me in the net. Only IRL. The opponent says nothing and runs away. If asked again, says I'll punch you now, and if again, says shut up for good

I mean I ask the one a pointy question that reveals the opponent's wrong. And then the one tries to avoid me lol

On forums I don't really see any reason in blocking people, you'll just miss out on parts of whatever conversation is happening. Especially on smaller forums like this one, what would blocking someone even do for me? I think on social media like Twitter (I don't use social media but still) it's a lot more reasonable to just block everyone you find annoying since you won't miss anything important, it'll probably make using the site slightly more bearable.

Lead them in circles until they contradict their own lying asses.
Laugh at them and make them cry until they block you.

Blocking people because they disagree with you is retarded. I don't see any problem with blocking trolls and obnoxious shitposters.

Tbh I haven't ever blocked anyone in the Doom forums. There are people I have no respect for but I just never interact with them.
Getting in arguments with people where they are obviously making sweeping generalizations or are just wrong generally end up in the trolling category for me if they keep pushing so I just never react to their posts. There were a few people like this back in 2016/2017 when people would shit on slaughtermaps endlessly.
In games it is a different story. For example in l4d2 if griefers join the game I would ban their steam ids on my server as well as block their steam accounts. Same thing goes for any cheaters I find/know about. Luckily cheaters in games I used to play were incredibly rare because you just surround yourself with quality people so you don't have any problems but they do still sometimes get into games unfortunately.
When it comes to current day in my games/hobbies generally I will 100% avoid this after 2021. If people bring politics into my life on the internet I just avoid them by removing myself from these groups/avoiding them entirely. This stems from my own experience in the professional space where politics actually affect peoples' lives.

Never blocked anyone. Came close over stalkerish behavior but they always lost interest on their own. Don't see a situation I would ever block someone outside of spamming and stalking territory.

Lead them in circles until they contradict their own lying asses. Laugh at them and make them cry until they block you. I like to do that too, actually, a lot of my political arguments during 2012-2016 on DW demonstrates that.

It's not worth my time to try convincing anyone of anything. I don't get paid enough to care about them.

I usually try to annoy the person to an extent that makes them block me themselves.
