In a move that has sent shockwaves through the nation, all three branches of the United States government, including the Supreme Court, have unanimously approved a law restricting voting rights to individuals aged 35 and over who can demonstrate an IQ of 120 or above. This controversial decision has sparked immediate debate and widespread concern.
The law, which has been passed without opposition, marks a significant departure from the established democratic norms. Critics argue that it undermines the fundamental principle of universal suffrage, effectively disenfranchising a large portion of the population.
Public reaction has been swift and largely negative. Protests have erupted across the country, with many viewing the law as an attempt to restrict voting rights and undermine democracy. The law has also been criticized for potentially exacerbating social inequality, as those who are unable to vote will have less influence over public policy.
The political implications of the law are significant. The shift in the voting population, now significantly reduced and skewed towards older, more educated individuals, could lead to a dramatic change in the balance of power in future elections.
The societal impact of the law is also expected to be profound. Critics argue that it could deepen divisions between different groups in society, particularly along lines of age and education.
Internationally, the law has been met with concern. Many countries have expressed alarm about the state of democracy in the United States. Despite the unanimous approval of the law by all branches of the U.S. government, the international community has called for a review of the decision.
The future of the law is now in the hands of the American people. As protests continue and the debate rages on, the nation waits to see how this unprecedented decision will shape the future of American democracy.Source

Source seems legit. I'm not 100% on board with age and iq being the metric. A lot of potential voters would still be of the persuasion that only extract resources. I think the "service guarantees citizenship" trope would be preferential. I've heard a lot of proposed ideas like making income tax an opt in system to gain voting privileges but haven't devoted a lot of thought to them. Pretty much any requirement for having skin in the game so to speak should have a dramatically positive impact within just a few generations. I think reforming the electoral vote would be equally as important though. As is it's essentially devolved into a convoluted popular vote in 48 of the states. Fix those two things and I think we'd see massive improvement fairly quick.

- law gets passed
- most of the federal government end up flunking the IQ portion of the process
- law gets repealed overnight

Anyone with an IQ of 120 or higher would realize that their vote really doesn't matter.

Imagine thinking in 2023 that IQ is a good metric for inteligence. lol Well, I'm pretty sure someone that scores an IQ of 60 would be fucking retarded. Same as someone with an IQ of 150 would be a genius. IQ absolutely is a good measure for intelligence. However, it is not a good metric for drive, and success. You can be a lazy piece of shit with a high IQ. There's people with average IQs that are highly successful because they are driven. There's also people with low-IQs that are successful, like professional athletes, social media influencers, porn stars, and celebrities.

Imagine thinking in 2023 that IQ is a good metric for inteligence. This is midwit cope in my experience. Every single person I consider smart or sharp who has taken a test invariably scored 120+ This is not to say that intelligence is the only trait that matters. I find stupid girls really cute. They trigger my protective instinct I suppose.

Every single person I consider smart or sharp who has taken a test invariably scored 120+ This is not to say that intelligence is the only trait that matters. I find stupid girls really cute. They trigger my protective instinct I suppose. Meh, it's a reasonable gauge. It's like BMI: sure, there's a chance that the chart you're looking at depicts some monstrous body builder with 0.1% water mass, but it's much more likely the patient is just american. Think horses not zebras etc. I took a couple of IQ tests for uni shit (if you're hanging out near the psychology department then it's pretty much guaranteed): when it came to language & problem solving I'm skating around the 130 gigabrain level. Unfortunately, the maths portion of the test exists: I scored so poorly (borderline fucking retarded) it dragged my final score down from "Einstein can suck my dick" to "channel 5 weather girl". Never heard of a political IQ test, but I'd be extremely wary of such a concept (let alone basing voting rights on such a test). Democracy is mob rule: it (mostly) works because the mob balances itself out, the extremist genius Unabomber's vote is deleted by tenscore Texan fucking mouth breathers. But running a system of mob rule without the mob? Where the common "just scraped a 120" banking social classes can arbitrarily delete undesirable votes, manufacture postal votes out of thin air, and use propaganda to manipulate the outcome? Man, I wish there was a case study of what happens to a country then that exact system was enacted, wow, I bet that would be interesting.

To contain the riots that would follow if they enacted this law, you would need El Salvador levels of policing:

**Headline:** "Unprecedented Law Passed: IQ Threshold Set for Incarceration, Government Officials Included"
**Date:** July 31, 2023
In an unprecedented move that has shocked the nation and the world, all three branches of the United States government have unanimously passed a controversial law that mandates incarceration for all individuals with an IQ score below 120. The law, known as the "Intelligence Mandate Act," has sparked widespread debate and concern, with critics calling it a gross violation of human rights.
The law was passed unopposed in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, and was subsequently signed into law by the President. In a surprising twist, several signatories of the bill, including members of Congress and high-ranking government officials, were themselves sent to prison after failing to meet the mandated IQ threshold.
In a press conference, the President defended the law, stating, "This is a bold step towards a more intelligent and efficient society. We believe that by setting a high standard for cognitive ability, we can drive innovation and progress like never before."
However, the law's implementation has been met with widespread protest and civil unrest. Critics argue that the law is discriminatory, unethical, and a violation of basic human rights. Legal experts have also raised concerns about the constitutionality of the law, and several lawsuits have already been filed challenging its legality.
The international community has expressed shock and concern over the new law. The United Nations has called for an emergency meeting to discuss the situation, with the UN Secretary-General stating, "This law is a clear violation of human rights. We urge the United States to reconsider this decision."
Meanwhile, the country's prison system is already feeling the strain of the sudden influx of inmates. Reports of overcrowding and inhumane conditions are already emerging, and there are concerns about the system's ability to cope with the increased population.
The law's impact on the economy is also a significant concern. With a large portion of the workforce now incarcerated, many industries are facing labor shortages, leading to fears of an economic downturn.
Despite the widespread backlash, the government remains steadfast in its decision. However, with legal challenges mounting and civil unrest growing, the future of the Intelligence Mandate Act remains uncertain.

Yeah, because a bunch of gang members having the right punishment (that prison was made specifically for gang members and dangerous criminals btw, low level criminals receive a better treat by the police) is the same as a genocide for ethnic/religion reasons.
