I think journalists and most government apparatus should lose their jobs to AI as well.

We need more actual journalists, but all the propagandists can be replaced by AI.

It's annoying how revolutionary machine learning language models are perceived, considering that you have to register and use the service online, and the platform is experiencing service downtime several hours a day from how much it is being abused. This would be much cooler if you could store it locally on your own machine update it with OpenAI's data on your own volition or import your own data into it to skew it the way you like it. As far as I know there isn't a way to do that. You have to plug in to OpenAI for it to work which I think is very limiting for its versatility.
In an ideal world, AI really should be automating all the boring technical tasks to give us time in our days to pursue our creative hobbies. Seeing as though AI is not good enough to provide factual information, it is instead detouring through creative fiction which sucks and no one wants except for people who can turn a profit without any creative drive.
Anyway, I don't get much pride in people losing their jobs. I've been unemployed before and it sucks. Most existing well-paying jobs are fucking useless anyway. (Would anyone really give a shit if every parking enforcement officer disappeared forever?)

(Would anyone really give a shit if every parking enforcement officer disappeared forever?) I'm really annoyed by the cynical nature of some regarding AI as well. I was helping someone trouble shoot some software at work, and we had a discussion about AI. I was friendly, but I thought the guy sounded like a typical screeching-retard from the old twitter complaining about it. He was going on about inaccuracy and what not. In the meantime this dumb motherfucker's issue was that he couldn't find where the scroll tab for the page was... People just want to sound smart and important, in the meantime, they don't know shit about ass. I also share your sentiments about ChatGPT. Once plugins are ready, you can do what you are talking about, where you can examine your own uploaded data, rather than ask it a question as a jack of all trades. That's going to be a game changer, because you can hone it to one thing, and reduce inaccuracy.

Good writers collaborate to create great stories. Any writers afraid of losing their jobs to AI are unwilling to see it as at least a tool, or maybe more accurately a co-writer.

I think a lot of those writers are probably not smart enough to capitalize on the utility. Lack of foresight, and intelligence is probably why most scripts suck nowadays too. They all just agree on the same thing, and believe in the right politics, but the talent is lacking. Honestly, it seems like all the shit on netflix, hulu, etc, may as well been generated by a machine, because it always the same woke garbage storylines.

I don't watch tv or modern movies so my general stance is I don't really care since they aren't providing a service I generally have interest in but I think they are just fighting the inevitable. We are likely within a decade of ai being able to generate custom movies and shows for people on demand that are actually of at least a quality comparable to what hollywood is putting out. Eventually after that custom games will be able to be generated. My strongest opinion on ai is just that it should be open source since it's going to happen pretty much regardless of anything else. Also: January 26, 2023 BuzzFeed says it will use AI to help create content, stock jumps 150% www.cnn.com/2023/01/26/media/buzzfeed-ai-content-creation/index.htmlApril 21, 2023 BuzzFeed News will shut down www.cnn.com/2023/04/20/media/buzzfeed-news-shuts-down/index.html

Oh dear, what will we do without the same favored hack writers recycling the same formulas and plots with a dumbass bumbling obese husband, a bitchy no-fun booma but of course intellectually superior wife, people constantly lying to impress whoever, just plain humiliation somehow supposed to be comedy, the same tired stereotypes, and of course zero culture? Aren't TV ratings in the shitter anyway?

Good writers sit in the dark, alone, tending their cigarette ashtray as if it were some stinking bonsai tree, hating every molecule of their being as they scrape the epidermis of their shriven soul, sieving through the dust for particles of meaning in a Godless, fucked up universe. What happens afterwards is industry hacks gather around a table, "collaborating" in order to take the original art and prepare it for the mass market. This "collaboration" - bollocks, it's a bunch of first-year writing students who never learned to leave the crèche of the writers' roundtable behind - has resulted in more than a decade of stagnation in the visual arts. There is not a single original idea percolating amidst the sea of empty skulls in that fucking picket line. Look at that fucking retard in the Evil Dead shirt whinging about childhood trauma. Bitch, you're wearing a t-shirt featuring a franchise in which a tree raped a woman. Twice. How the fuck is this person - who cannot detect irony, hypocrisy, or parataxis - allowed anyplace near a writers' room? Here is the truth of the matter: Hollywood stopped making (enough) money. Hacks are about to be shed like a dog sheds fleas, mainly because the dog's median weight is about 98% flea at this point. Last time this happened it actually killed the host industry (journalism) - which was fine, because the government doesn't have to worry about the negative effects of allowing criticism if the organs of free speech are incapable of fucking breathing. I doubt this will be allowed to happen again, because this time it's the Fentanyl of the Masses which is under threat, and a country will survive the death of the free press better than it will the collapse of the fucking colosseum.
