I had no idea it was coming out of my account. Anyway, i guess ill be $16 richer for now on.
I had thoughts about making a donation page so the DB community could pay the $2.99 a month fee to make this forum ad-free, but I think with these new savings I might just front the costs myself.

The ads aren't really an issue since you can always use an adblocker if you're annoyed by them.

But Proboards annoys you with a pop-up once per session if you have an adblocker running. In any case, since the ads here are some of the least intrusive ever, I whitelisted this site in my adblocker.

Once I bought a laptop from a well known franchise here in the UK, Curry's PC. And they asked me if I want to sign for support and I didn't want, I said no. Then after 6 months I realized I had been paying each month a small amount. I didn't bother to complain (a waste of my time, I would be very mad and waste more of my time if they started the nice speak and politely tell me they can't do it). I just decided I will never gonna buy from them again.

Yeah! No ads, and the provider (proboards) is also happy - they made a cool service, and they do deserve money.

It seems ads have returned. Enabling javascript while using an adblocker (like uBlock Origin) makes "Can we talk" friendly pop-up appear, and (after disabling the adblocker) below the ads at the bottom of the page (which somehow are not clickable for me, and contain simple text... strange ads) there is a links which offers you to pay to remove ads.
So, maybe you didn't make payment renew itself automatically, cause it clearly was indicated in your original post the fee is monthly.

There's a monthly $6.99 one for the whole forum but its only up to a limited number of page views. I think I have to bump up the fee to get more ad-free page views per month.
Honestly, the most annoying part of the ads for me, is they are the last part of the forum to load. So when I browse the forum, and quickly go to click on a particular thread, the ad sometimes shifts the whole board down and I click a different thread by mistake, and in my frustration I go back and do it again even faster and i still sometimes repeat it because of the order the page loads in.
