I work in data aggregation for market research projects and honestly I'm not even very good at it, but at the capacity that I know and how much more intricate it can get makes me pretty scared of the future. A boycott is only as good as it's numbers, and I think we need something more powerful than current day big tech that will reach people in a way where they will listen, and I don't know what that is. It would have to be this massive impenetrable force for good. I'd like to be a part of it if I can but I'm just one person.
It sucks how many things are so good at occupying my attention. It was fun in the 90s when it was just doom and just being fun, but now everything has a means of being weaponized for capital gains. We are just consumers being farmed like cattle at this point and it's gonna get worse.

Any climate model that doesn't take into account (a) water vapour(major greenhouse effect ingredient) and (b) the sun (major heat source) is worthless.

Br*h the carbon footprint is that big because of the way we still get most of our electricity, which is coal. Not because the neural network itself (a bunch of computers) emits anything. When we switch to nuclear/solar power the "footprint" will be basically zero.
