The intro/chorus riff reminds me of Mouth For War by Pantera. LOVE this song.

I'll post another one...maybe even a few more today!
This was one of the first "scary" bands I ever listened to. Every person who was "that weird metal kid" in high school likely has a story about "that one album that mom freaked out about..." For me, this was that album. I remember coming home from Best Buy (I was sixteen and had a car) with this album BLARING from my speakers. This track, actually. I go inside and my mother's first question, "What in the Hell was that?"
(Hands her the album)
"I don't like this. Not one bit. This looks like pure evil. This makes God sad."

Geezer Butler, known for his bass work with Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell also had a side project called "Geezer" that released some interesting sounding tracks! Here's one of them.

Hey, 40oz and Doomkid , you guys seem to have a killer taste in music and we have usually agreed on solid tunes. I found this gem a few years back. It's Pantera featuring Rob Halford, and it is one of the coolest things in existence. This song amps me up and makes me feel fearless. Also, nxGangrel , this song was featured in the Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie.

Another random youtube suggestion. The song is called Gods of Doom...it is really good if you like doom metal as much as I do.
Oh...so sad that RUSH isn't here anymore. He would have loved this.

Keeping with the slow, slow pace here...I have been jamming to a lot of bluesy doom bands lately. Here's another great track I found by chance while watching a documentary about the Vampire of Dusseldorf / The Dusseldorf Monster, Peter Kurten (you may remember my post in the spooky stories thread I made last Halloween about his long list of victims). Doomkid , maybe you'll dig this. I can't believe that this hasn't gotten more views.

The first time I heard this song I was blown away at 1:27. The vocal delivery comes out of fucking nowhere.

WELL!
It has been a spell since I last posted here. So here you guys go! This is a track called "Alas, Lord is upon me" by the Polish band Behemoth. I love the drumming in this song so much. I remember hearing this for the first time on Pandora radio and instantly falling in love.
The actual song starts at 1:20.

I never gave Johnny Cash a real listen until today. But this song has got a real darkness to it that I really like.

I'm surprised I haven't shared any Megadeth here. Well, here you go. I love the way the video is set up like a comic strip to go alone with the lyrics.

My favorite Megadeth song. "Distorted figures walk the street, it's 1999. Weeds once underneath your feet have grown into vines. Bodies melted like a candle, land without a face. No time to change your faith, no time left, it's too late" is such a fucking awesome lyric.

This band has two members. Yes. Only two. Yet they have somehow managed to create this incredibly thick sound. There's a drummer and a guitarist/vocalist. I love the vocals. Doomkid and joe-ilya, check these guys out. 40oz , maybe?

If you can, you should absolutely go out of your way to see these guys play live.. to say they're amazing live is an understatement; their live performances blow their studio material out the water, the atmosphere, menacing stage presence, low frequency chainsaw guitar tone and drumming is something else when it's not held back by studio magic.

Not a huge fan of tough-guy-sound metal music, I'm more in a search for fun and/or emotional music like this :
