Are there any tutorials on streaming Doom? Is it even worth trying on a computer that is over 5 years old?

I think my computer is at least 4 years old, but it was built with a special graphics card that supports streaming which made the process very easy. If you've been playing games made within the past few years without any graphical errors or lowering settings to increase performance, you probably have the necessary equipment. There is a few free major streaming softwares that are very user friendly.
Someone can probably explain it better than I can though.

I use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to stream my Doom stuff on YouTube. It's convenient because each upload goes directly on my YouTube page, and I can always delete the ones that are less interesting and keep the ones that I enjoyed.
Also, I used OBS on my old laptop from 2010/2011 earlier this year. I would think it should work well with anything within a 5-year span. Might need to play around with the resolution output and other options to see what works best for you.

I was about to start a topic with this name for obvious reasons, but I'm glad I decided to search the previous pages before proceeding. I'm gonna post here when I'm streaming as well, if someone wants to watch me play. Mostly Doom wads right now, and some DN3D, damn it's been a while since I last played that game. All broadcasts are archived after the stream is over, but I am not recording myself and uploading the videos on Twitch or YT at this time, so keep in mind that they'll be available only for a limited time. That might change in the future if OBS Studio doesn't eat my HDD alive with huge video file sizes, didn't check how big they are yet. Here's the last session from this morning  : |

Streaming some more xdd. Pistol starting from MAP28 since I have decided to finally update PrBoom+ from 2.5.1.4 to the test version 2.5.1.5. Them W10 updates eh, something eventually created a few input issues with the mouse quite a while ago but I lived with them, until this morning when I said "Alright, enough mouse skipping for me, I guess it's finally time for an upgrade". So I warped to MAP28 and made a save there when all was said and done . |

Hopefully this time no migraines will interfere, I couldn't finish MAP28 yesterday thanks to that problem, felt like my head was splitting in half near the end so I had to stop, take a pill, and go to sleep...

Btw, I'll stream some more today, probably, and that's going to be Struggle, and after that Exomoon, so, no more slaughter for a while since those 2 were on my list for a while. I'm starting PSX Doom TC today. As much as I love PSX Doom, I've actually never managed to finish the TC myself, just watched some video walkthroughs of the real deal (from which I don't remember much, so this is going to be semi-blind). Blind, funny word since certain areas in various maps truly are almost pitch black . Minus the resolution, I'm trying to keep it as close to the real deal. |

Continuing PSX Doom today, but note however than due to some health issues the headphones are out, I'm using the built in speakers of the monitor now and I had to set the in-game volume quite low otherwise it'll be too loud for me.
There's not going to be any commentary until I get a new microphone either (the one I used was attached to the headphones, which I had to get rid of). So until I get a separate mic (and speakers, otherwise I'll have to set the game at low volume eternally) keep in mind that my streams will be gameplay only and with no commentary.
