I need to finish this, I've played the first five or six maps already, I'll play the rest with RC2 and drop some feedback.

Awesome concept that I feel is mostly executed very well. MAP01 This was a beautiful opener. I really would have liked to just continue wandering around in this space for hours, with no monsters even. MAP02 This map feels out of place in this set and is mainly just a series of hallways. I found it boring outside of the doomcute bar made entirely of stock textures, that was neat. MAP03 Good fun map. Plenty of different rooms with different styles. Love the baby Icon of Sin texture alignment. MAP04 Probably my personal favorite map of the wad, I dug the look of this and I like how it plays as well. Simple but really strong visuals. MAP05 This feels like the flagship map of the wad. The interweaving layout and progression is expertly made, the visuals are very good, the combat is fun... This is a great level. MAP06 What I like about joe ilya is that he's experimental with his maps, which usually means I either love or hate his maps but it's always good to see something new from him. This was a solid map. MAP07 This was a cool map, I loved the progression and all the different areas felt distinct. The funhouse shenanigans broke my mind. I did have trouble finding the teleporter that you need to jump out of the building to get to. I had to open the editor to find out what to do because it was hidden by corpses. MAP08 I played RC1 of this map, and I'm pretty sure it broke. I pressed all four switches in the four buildings but the fourth step up to the megasphere didn't rise all of the way. Anyways, I immensely disliked this map. I felt underpowered a lot of the time, the different buildings' gimmicks require a lot of trial and error, the free-roaming enemies were not well used and just clogged up doorways, the secrets are obscure and not very helpful by the time you've found them. There was one point where I ran behind a red castle hoping for a medikit because I was low health and instead there was just a pain elemental and in that moment I thought "this map doesn't know how to reward the player," and of course there was another hidden pain elemental on the other side of the map, symmetrically in the same spot. This was another map that felt out of place in the set. MAP09 I did not like this map at all either. Telling the player if the janky central mechanic breaks that they have to kill themselves is not a solution. Especially because to a blind player, they don't know what 'broken' even looks like. Especially because this is a puzzle map, so the player spends the entire time wondering if they're simply stumped or if they've broken the map. For the life of me I couldn't find the red key or find the solution to reach those tall computer-texture stairs. I kept screwing up passage to one side or another and had to keep reloading saves. If the FLAT14 crates are raised up, you have a fat chance of squeezing past them across the sinking red FLAT bridge. I spent about forty minutes on this map before giving up. MAP10 Nice kitty

Thank youu! Sorry you didn't like MAP09 but you make a good point about the 'broken' pits, and it makes me realize that they probably weren't even necessary since the map hasn't broken for anyone yet and that you'd probably know if it did (also having to do it on purpose to some extent) so it's just a manner of resetting that isn't just warping to the start of the map all over again. If I make this puzzle again I'll do it better next time!

I have been playing this on and off for a while and meant to leave some comments earlier, but I've been very tired lately. Anyway... It's a project full of creativity to be sure. The setting and the midis gives Amorphous Euphoria a 'weird feeling'. I'm not sure what to call it - demons and lounge music? Jazz? Roxette? It goes pretty well together. There's more than a hint of the early 90s wads in there - something I'm fond of.
High Point: Difficult to say! I enjoyed the craziness of Smeggin' Hell but any of the latter maps up until Fluid World Deluxe could easily take the prize. Oh, and Wizwar wasn't bad either...
Bottom Feeder: Probably Sand Castle, as it strays from the 'amorphous' theme. Felt like just another Joemap.
All in all a pretty awesome opener for Doom Universe. Looking forward to the next one!

Thank you! Part of why I started this was to have a good reason to go back to making zany fun Doom 1 textured maps like I used to way back when that were also inspired by early 90s Dooming.
