Hell Revealed III (pt. 1) is a short episode for Doom 2 designed for limit removing source ports made by various members of Doomer Boards. It is sort of a beta release for what, in the future, will become a full 32-map megawad. I had a great time making a map for this project. I hope to be involved in future projects.

I had a great time making a map for this project. I hope to be involved in future projects. Yeah, I had a lot of fun mapping for this one too. You should definitely make a second map for the full release and you should also give Joe a map for DBP42!

Yey, finally!
Funny thing is, I don't know if I ever played the original Hell Revealed series, or I am sure I did, but I don't remember absolutely anything about them, probably I didn't appreciate them and nothing stayed in memory. So, it would be interesting to play this, as I won't be able to connect with the past, it will be just like another new WAD with a certain hellish sky theme.

Good shit fellas. Map 03 kicked my ass. It was probably balanced fine, but the other maps spoil you with resources, which I like from a casual perspective. Funny thing is, I don't know if I ever played the original Hell Revealed series, or I am sure I did, but I don't remember absolutely anything about them, probably I didn't appreciate them and nothing stayed in memory. Me too, but the same is also true for me and TNT.wad. I know I played TNT: Evilution a few times, but I don't actually know if completely played through the last episode ever or just always burned out... though that's a conversation for another day.

MAP03 has no armor and many chaingunners and revs to fight without it; makes it easy to die.

Hell Revealed series - I mean the original and HRII - are iconic but yeah more of a fetish than a directly fun experience. I mean when talking about mapset as a whole. Simply put, they have too many subpar maps (both visually and gameplay-wise) that kill the boner. Though I much respect them for promoting the style that would come to be termed "slaughter", and Hell Revealed II's music is pleasing to someone's used to extreme subgenres metal (black, death, or mixed with grindcore).
Alien Vendetta or Scythe (the first one) hold attention better if one is playing "continuously", not in a sense of "not pistol-starting", but in a sense of going through each map consecutively.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to play this HRIII's "shareware" version. I'm sorry for not engaging in playtesting during its development, but I was kinda feeling so down all the time. Wanted to start a map as well but couldn't do it either.
I will try to be around for testing at least when HRIII is gonna be continued.

Cool, thanks for the link. Some good feedback worth considering once the dev thread for the full megawad opens up.

Never liked the HR series to begin with, but now, might give this a try in due time.
