A lot of businesses are closing down in my area -- mostly lower tier franchises like dunkin donuts, sonic, and arby's. Also been seeing pretty much every store with big help wanted signs taped all over the place.
Not gonna lie, I hated working for big franchises when I did and I would never go back even if they doubled my pay. The work was grueling and tiring and I felt so drained every day. It was amazing how they kept me coming back for so long. Sometimes when I'm as busy as I was working there, the thought of applying for jobs elsewhere on what little downtime I'd get floats right past me. So it's nice to see what's been coming to them.
Has the labor shortage effected you where you live? What do you think about it? What do you think is gonna happen next?

There's plenty of big official holidays in Israel, nearly every month there's something big to celebrate for, which I think keeps businesses afloat.

My fav irish pub in the city where i study closed down. Fuck covid. I do think the "industry" is gonna bounce back though as the pandemic comes to an end in most of the developed world. Hopefully they'll open another irish pub.

It's sad to see some small businesses go. Fortunately some are rebounding like nobody's business. However, the fast food chains and other despicable companies can freaking die, and people will be better off for it.
