Have you seen any less than well known movies lately that you found particularly fascinating? Talk about it here. ---------------------------------- I recently was encouraged to watch a film on Netflix called Frank. After watching it I have to say that it is one of the strangest and greatest movies I have ever seen. It is a British-Irish film about a man named Frank who never takes off this fake head that he wears. Frank is the leader of a band for which he is the vocalist. The members of the band are all mentally ill to some degree, save for the new keyboardist who by chance found his way into the band. The movie is full of dark comedy, which I love. Character development is absolutely phenomenal as you follow John the keyboardist on his year long journey with the band, starting as a struggling, inconfident musician and becoming a brand new person through his involvement with the band. Here is the wikipedia page for the film. Also, here is a clip from the movie. This is the scene where John sees Frank for the first time.

Bronson starring Tom Hardy. Friend recommended it to me, wasn't expecting it to be what it was. Great flick.

Bronson is the tale of a petty criminal going full on crazy. He becomes detached from reality and invents a new persona to fight his way deeper in to the system, to become the most notorious prisoner in the UK. His only goal seems to make those around him so uneasy they're are in constant fight-or-flight mentality. My favorite part is Hardy's acting, bringing the viewer into his violence and never knowing when he'll explode.

"A Perfect Getaway", this one will blast your mind, it's truly awesome
"Poseidon Rex", like the above + Jurrasic Park. Watch this only for the lulz.
Have you seen Mad Max: Fury Road (I don't recall the exact name)? It's cool if you like that kind of movies.

I saw parts of Mad Max Fury Road, it seemed alright. I never got to into Mad Max very much. I have heard Mad Max compared to Snake Pliskin a lot, and I loved the "Escape" movies.

Frailty directed and starring bill paxton, one of the only worthwhile movies ever made by people in hollywood, along with John Carpenter's Vampires.

Rewatched Blind Woman's Curse starring the indomitable Meiko Kaji. Its two parts yakuza film, one part revenge film, and another part WTF. Its quite solid with some evocative cinematography, if you can get past the stuff with in it with a hunchback. Really fake looking hunchback too, like someone put a pillow in the back of his kimono.
