For me it always looked like the triangle is supposed to be a spaceship, and the circles to be a binocular perspective.
But it's probably just two Pacmans kissing, and I'm reading too far into this.

For me circles mean Phobos and Deimos and triangle is an arrow. Full logo can show teleportation technology between Phobos and Deimos.

When I talked to Tom Hall he said the UAC logo was a space ship dropping bombs on a planet. I couldn't see it, myself at least until Romero dumped all those unused Doom art assets in 2014. It looks like he was referring to the old UAAF logo in this picture. If that's any indication, I suppose the logo is a space ship traveling between two planets.  |

In Doom 3 one of the video logs says the UAC has been a thing since the Space Age so its been assumed to have evolved from NASA.

After looking at 40's post, the "small ship traveling between two planets" idea actually seems pretty solid.
Also UAC stands for U're All Cunts, a well-hidden secret!
