I think so. It's showing all the same warning signs. Delayed development, restarting the project etc.

I prefer to hope that someone as smart and as experienced with the industry as Romero would be able to avoid those pitfalls. Besides, he's not beholden to any development schedule is he? I prefer to let it happen as it does.

I can't say it is, because I didn't hear anything about even being in development yet. There was that failed kickstarter, and people asked for a demo. We are waiting for the demo. Didn't hear anything from Romero about this project since then. If they finally get financial support and then it takes ages and delays then we could talk about a new Daikatana.

I noticed that this sneaky thread was here. Thinking about it it's been 3 years now since the announcement and the kickstarter fiasco and as far as I know Romero didn't say anything new about Blackroom since the kickstarter was closed until a demo would be ready for the public. I think we can be 99% sure that we will never see Blackroom. If you enjoy some conspiracy theories: He was trying to ride the hype for the upcoming release of Doom 2016 to get attention for the project but the fans cockblocked him when he didn't show anything. Then Doom 2016 was actually good and successful so he didn't have the horde of angry gaymers to come back at him begging him to make a good game. This is even more funny if you put it together with Sigil delays. Poor Romero, I guess he really ran out of luck after the 90's.

i backed the kick starter and they refunded us really quickly.. i think he might have gained some self awareness and didn't want to repeat daikatana
