Winnowing Hall is cool, but all other maps on Seven Portals are a bunch of shitty mazes. really, that's why some people have a bad impression of Hexen, they kept the best maps for later levels

Hmm, I kinda want to agree, but the weird thing is that I feel the same about most games with multiple acts/episodes/whatever. KDitD bores me to death, so does the first act in Diablo 2. So I don't know, maybe I feel like the first hub is the worst just because I obviously played it the most and got totally sick of it.

Half of the reason it sucks are the weapons. I never got into Hexen because they hold over the later weapons too damn long. I understand keeping the final weapon until the Monastery but christ...that Mace of Contrition sucks ass.
