I think the bans only make him seen more legitimate. Now he can be this martyr in the war against censorship. Absolutely not, he's a godamn joke and I couldn't care less about how he's treated. I don't like him either but this outlook on life is repulsive and it's why politics became the cynical parody that it is now.

I'm against this, and I'm not even a huge Jones fan. First off, it's beyond a reasonable doubt that these tech firms are in cohoots with each other to block, censor, shadow ban political views they deem as "wrong think" and it's anyone goes against their political agendas. Twitter, youtube, and facebook will keep users who openly make hateful/threatening/violent/racist comments or videos against people on the right of Mitt Romney, but will ban people like Diamond and Silk and Jared Taylor because they have unpopular opinions. And honestly, fuck Libertarians. Yeah fuck you spergs who say stupid shit like, "WELL IT'S A PRIVATE COMPANY THEREFORE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHO GETS TO USE THEIR PLATFORM TO SPEAK. IF THEY DON'T LIKE IT, THEN THEY COULD BUILD THEIR OWN SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITE!" Okay so an alternative site called GAB is created, which owns a tiny percent of the market share compared to twitter and facebook. Now other tech firms like Apple and Google ban Gab social media app on their stores so now it becomes much more difficult to market their company. Here's a dose of reality for libertarians... WE DON'T LIVE IN A LIBERTARIAN SOCIETY ANYMORE. Enjoy your 1984 corporate oligarchs mixed with Lugenpresse media. These tech firms are monopolies that control an overwhelming majority of the market share and are fighting tooth n' nail to eliminate as much competition as possible... AND they are dictating/enforcing their political bias/agenda on the community of people who use their platforms to voice their opinions. But hey, Libertarians get a huge hard-on from monopolistic corporations. Tech/social media firms need to be treated at the same standard of utility companies. If a utility company, like a phone company, can't deny you service then youtube/twitter/facebook etc... can't either. "A POWER COMPANY IS A PRIVATE COMPANY AND CAN DENY YOU SERVICE FOR REASONS OF YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS, SO THEREFORE YOU CAN JUST BUILD OUR OWN POWER PLANT!" .... *cringe* He literally (not figuratively!) accused everyone even remotely related to the Sandy Hook massacre of being 'crisis actors', he played video of heartbroken family members crying over the loss of their loved ones and was just like "DERE ALL ACTORS!!!! I'M TELLIN THE TRUTH, FOLKZ" on many occasions despite overwhelming evidence that Sandy Hook was 'legitimate' (don't like the use of that term but it's definitely appropriate here). That goes way beyond the pale, well into the territory of defamation of character and slander. Alex Jones appeared on the Michael Savage radio show a couple of days ago. I was listening in my car as I was stuck in traffic coming home from work. Jones claims that the media took his comment out of context @50:28 ... I kind of wish he put a little bit more explanation into "how" they took it out of context. I think Jones sometimes says shit when an major event happens without putting much thought into it, which makes him look like a complete dipshit While other times when he actually researches into things. He'll provide statistics and facts to back up valid claims. That's my two cents on Jones.

Idk if it's too late or not (more than likely it is), but I've deleted and unliked virtually every single political related post on social media attached to my real name a month ago. I don't need these creeps to know my political leanings.
Of course the content was super-concentrated in 2016. In retrospect, it was a complete waste of time, and only served to hurt me to express myself. Regardless, if it is my right to do so. There's still consequences that come with it. Not that I ever said anything extreme, but the polarization and tribalization within political discourse has really de-humanized people that have opposing views. I really hate what has become of our society. We are more than just 2D-caricatures of our political views.
I regret ever speaking my mind on the internet TBH.

I was going to question your conviction but in this era of outrage culture I don't really blame you. When one off-color remark, contextual joke or merely an observation can land people in the unemployment line, who fucking needs the stress.

We'll see if you change your tune the next time big tech arbitrarily decides suddenly having an opinion is 'hate speech'. This was testing the water. It will happen again.

If innocent people are getting banned for nothing then yes I will have a problem with it...but this guy didn't just "have an opinion", he created unnecessary hate towards people who did nothing wrong. and spread his toxic bullshit beliefs to people...going as low as paying random people thousands of dollars to yell "Bill Clinton is a rapist" during live news broadcasts...its not even like they banned him out of nowhere, he was given warnings to chill the fuck out, but instead of being a normal human being and toning it down, he kept going, even more psycho now. Toxic assholes as such need to have their social media rights taken away. For the safety of the normal person
crossing my fingers now that Mark Dice will be ban sniped next

The fucked part of it is that they acted in concert.
I don't know whats more fucked: that big tech has meetings ala The Five Families, or that they sit around and discuss Alex fucking Jones at these meetings.

'unnecessary hate' = implies that it's fine to hate the correct people. 'spread toxic beliefs' = has opinions I don't like. 'Bill Clinton is a rapist' = what, white powerful man taking sexual advantage of a dumb intern isn't rape now? Or does it only apply to republicans / democrats (delete as applicable) 'normal human being' = furfag / dangerhair / betacux soyboyz
'toxic assholes need to have their (social media) rights taken away' = fuck your human rights unless I like you 'for the safety of the normal person' = the most intellectually bankrupt argument since "Won't somebody think of the children!"

...going as low as paying random people thousands of dollars to yell "Bill Clinton is a rapist" during live news broadcasts... I honestly have no problem with this. It is highly likely that Bill Clinton has committed rape in the past, and even left-leaning media outlets are admitting that Juanita Broderick's story is probably true and needs to be heard by the general public.

Alex Jones is a dickhead, a hilarious shitshow of a human being, an actual cunt...
However, he didn't actually do anything that warranted his removal from those sites, he was a gimp but not an actual danger. Now you could say that he could inspire dangerous unhinged people to do dangerous things in his name or in his message but then I'd argue that literally anything could inspire dangerous unhinged people to do dangerous shit (because oddly enough, unhinged people are... Unhinged), I wouldn't ban literally everything just because some whack job acted out of his twisted mind.
The private company platform argument is actually quite self defeating if you look at it, you say "oh it's a private company they can do as they please" but then I'd like to point out that these private companies can "do as they please" all over the places 95% of most modern people get their news and information, the mention of this does nothing but put into perspective how you willingly let companies decide what you see.
But here's a problem I face with it all, I'd love nothing more than to see certain people's (*cough* antivax *cough*) tongues cut (in the proverbial way of course, we're not barbarians) however if I was given the opportunity to do so I'd have to decline doing it, I have no right to decide who says what, muting people would not only set off a dangerous snowball of "who else can we shut up" but also give more strength and volume to the voices you tried to silence, in a horrible irony you give a closer platform to the audience to the troglodytes you just ripped the stage from.

For the safety of the normal person Oh, Google, Facebook and Apple decide who is normal now. You must feel very safe they're looking out for you and protecting you from hurtful bullies like Alex Jones. He's such a 'toxic asshole' he needed three unrelated giant companies to ban him without citing any specific reason. Heaven forbid anyone hears him and makes up their own mind, or is forced to use critical thought to form a coherent picture of reality. Please, Google, save us from this tiresome exercise of thinking! I can't believe I'm actually having to defend Alex fucking Jones. But yes, now he's a martyr, where before he may haven been just an idiot, now he's an emboldened idiot with several times the support he had before. Silencing him just gave him the legitimacy he's always wanted. You don't even have to come out from under your wittle blankie to notice it.

So apparently Youtube just took down that video of Michael Savage interviewing Alex Jones....
Don't any of you people on the left see an issue here with these corporate oligarchs?

It is truly amazing (and hilarious) how you can trigger a multitude of people with something as little as a paragraph...yikes 😂
And Justince, why are you always triggered in every thread I see you in? Like calm down, this isn't a CNN broadcast lmao

It is truly amazing how such a small little paragraph can trigger a multitude of people...yikes 😂 And Justince bro, why are you always triggered in every thread I see you in? Like calm down lol You shouldn't belittle your own words like that. As in I bet you wouldn't like it if someone threatened you and then patronizingly asked how you could ever get so worked up over some harmless words. You'd be surprised how so many "little" things can have such huge impacts. So remember now and again to share a nice smile with the world and those you share it with! Also someone has to speak up about the injustices in the world, don't they?

Like calm down, this isn't a CNN broadcast lmao No one is triggered. This is called debate. You say something shallow and myopic, a few people one-up you. If you wanted an echo chamber where nothing you say is challenged you came to the wrong place. And no, obviously this isn't a CNN broadcast. CNN would be editing every conservative post to make them into racists. 9_9

Yeah right, if you honestly can't stand stupidity like you say you do, then you wouldn't be defending the finest exibit of stupidity, which is Mr. Jones.

I can tell just somewhat looking at your posts that you're some guy who doesn't believe in freedom of speech and endorses censorship. I think that Alex Jones is a moron but those companies banning him at the sametime proves that these companies don't believe in Freedom of speech even though these companies can do what they want. The Michael Savage interview he had with Alex Jones for those interested in listening to it.

Yeah right, if you honestly can't stand stupidity like you say you do, then you wouldn't be defending the finest exibit of stupidity, which is Mr. Jones. If he's so stupid, why not let him speak? Should be easy enough to dismantle a stupid person's argument, right? If stupidity was a bannable offence on social media, 94% of the platform would be vacant. I think you know that. In case you're being purposefully obtuse, dn is defending his right to be stupid, not the man himself. There is a distinction, even if your delicate ideology must dictate you ignore it.

Yeah right, if you honestly can't stand stupidity like you say you do, then you wouldn't be defending the finest exibit of stupidity, which is Mr. Jones. You're right, I should have defined stupidity.
Sub-category one: Lesser Stupidity Eg: Alex Jones. Consists of being a fucking mentalist. Conspiracy theories and vague racism, presented in a package that only a complete retard would even contemplate swallowing. Worrying about Alex Jones corrupting the youth / "normal people" of today is like worrying that a monkey will, if given 276 separate component parts, assemble a fully functional AK-47 and go apeshit in a playpark with it.
To reiterate, he's not being banned because he's fucking dangerous. He's being banned because he's a fucking troll.
Sub-category two: Greater Stupidity Eg: the tragic, intellectually bankrupt shambling corpse of the Left. Have somehow mixed up fascist policies (censorship, dehumanization, state interference & thought policing) and left-wing rhetoric (none of the above). Don't think laws apply to them - which is probably why they are constantly agitating to throw people in jail. Are too stupid to realize that laws do apply to them: would cheerfully burn the bill of rights to remove a spelling mistake, also want to do away with Due Process and replace judge, jury and executioner with Twitter. Are too fucking stupid to see the problem with this. Entire playbook is ripped straight from Scientology; Listen & Believe, fuck science, no tactic is too dirty, echo-chambers & the threat of utter destruction should you stray from the established line etc etc etc. All of this and they think that Alex Jones is the problem.
To reiterate; No, Violet, you are the fascists.
And then Violet was a fascist.
