I've just given the set a quick play-through on UV collecting every secret... All of the maps aside from the last (where the Cyberdemons pose a decent threat to life still) are much easier on continuous play. My map is arguably trivialised, although somebody who hadn't hunted all of the secrets in Spiral Edge and had suffered some damage could struggle due to the lack of armour and prevalence of Zombiemen plinking away at their health. It does all come together pretty well and should be a reasonable challenge for people who haven't played every map before. I look forward to trying @glenzinho's map.

40 did the bulk of the mapping after my scrap of a start area, I’ve just added gameplay and changed a few textures. Submitted to 40 for approval, I’ll private message you a copy @phobus !
I’ll have time to play the rest tomorrow and make demos if I can.

MAP01: Dunno. It's not even particularly good as a classic style map, than there's a totally different section (made by 40oz I bet). This map doesn't have sense.
MAP02: Oh yes another Circle of Death remake. I don't know if you can at least read Doomworld but in the Forest Swords thread Demonologist made a good post about your last maps.
MAP03: supercupcaketactics delivers once again. Didn't finish the map though, I decided to be more aggressive and I payed it. MAP04: It's allright and I appreciated that at least one actually made something more horror-esque, which fits well for this theme.
MAP05: dude set-pieces lmao.

Thanks for playing gaspe - I see 40oz moved the health and ammo around for my version, possibly making the latter more generous. I couldn't tell from your play through if the berserk secret is still activated by pressing on it or now comes down when the AV is triggered, but both work for me. Your cautious play seems to have been in response to the atmosphere and lower power weapon available, which felt like a good result for me.

Great job all, mad props to 40oz especially. Special thanks to joe-ilya and @phobus for busting theirs out in a short time period. MegaPancakeStrategist you know how much I love your map and style, you always have my eternal gratitude. Playing through these now! download zdoom 2.8.1 demos for maps01-05First time seeing joe's map, pretty good for a quick effort. I wasn't bothered as such by the normal Doomy textured beginning as by the end it gives the impression of transporting to the alien place that the texture set implies... speaking of implies those fucken imps fucked me at the end haha. Phobus' map was a tricky little cunt, I've never been bitten by spectres so much in my Doom life. Fun map. Cupcakes' I've played a million times so I just action manned myself through the map, still love it Sarge! Beacon by 40 was a first time playthrough and a class map, even though I was a dumb cunt who missed a switch and got lost for nearly 5 minutes. Map06 I've played in it's early stage so I'll give it another run later. You were under the pump this month 40oz and I didn't think you were going to make it, but you managed to pull it all off and deliver another quick, fun and cohesive set of maps.

here's some fdas up to cupcakes map03 (didn't finish it yet ; recorded on first alpha version) fdas maps 1-3cupcakes map is the standout for me so far. It's the usual well fleshed out, choatic, tripwire at every corner style. While may be hard, is always engaging. my computer quit on me during my fourth attempt through it though, and that's all I've done so far of the set. not sure when i'm getting around to these continueing these again.

lol i was recording a FDA for this mapset, then intercepts overflow got me at MAP03 (Recorded in Crispy Doom 5.2) FDA (MAP01, MAP02 and intercepts overflow in MAP03)Some quick reviews: MAP01: Anywhere but Here by joe-ilya
I concur with Gaspe: this makes zero sense. It's like i'm playing some classic set by Joe then suddenly i'm pushed to DBP04 Eh, the map is alright for an easy opener, but doesn't give me strong first impressions. Funny ending. MAP02: Beacon by 40ozGreat map 40! More Doom 2 MAP11 homages aside, great use of the textures and nails the feeling of an unfamiliar alien world. Fun easy going gameplay too.

People see a circle. People assume it’s a Circle of Death remake. I scratch my head wondering if circles were only invented with that map and it’s the only time some people have seen a circle in their life. I heh.

The overall setup of the level is the same, that said Circle of Death is cool and there's nothing wrong with homages/remakes but I've already played the same map in a previous session and in Ezekiel. Played the new MAP05, it's allright but I don't understand who made what, it looks like another 40oz map. If the map is made by more people you can just tell it.

In Map05 I had just a scrap which was the starting area. I gave it to 40 in the case of him being able to do something with it as submissions were dry at that point. Then on my birthday I harassed him to make me one of his world famous birthday maps from it. He made the rest of the layout and architecture, added two Hell knights, the demons at the ssg trap and the arachnatron setup and said here, ya cunty cunt, now go and detail it. So I added gameplay and traps, that wonderful SP_CUNT1 texture at the chaingun pickup, changed around some textures and added more Giger. Then supercupcaketactics added some lovely lighting and more details to the bare spots while 40 finished it off with that moody lightning in the rev pit trap. Thus was born Forty and 2, that being 40oz & two other mappers, a small name play on the Tool song Forty-Six & 2. A true collaboration that is most parts 40 although it has my name on it and a wonderful backstory that takes longer to read than playing the map itself. Thanks for playing!

Uh, i tried MAP03 again on Crispy Doom 5.2, and the intercepts overflows keep happening. I think something is broken.

It works fine for me using Crispy Doom 4.3.EDIT: That was the alpha version. All of these maps were last minute submissions (including mine) except for supercupcaketactics' MAP03, so its good news people liked it at all. I don't believe my maps here to be my best work either. Maybe you Doomers could help next time???

Glad to hear my map has gone down well with those who've made it that far. Not bad for a speed map built on a foundation of realising I was running out of time.
I'll have more time this month. I'm good to do better for #5!

Aisleen I finally took a look at it in SLADE and for some reason the REJECT and BLOCKMAP in my map was moved under MAP04 when going from the alpha version to the final.... I fixed that so here's a link: Xenomorph Base FIXED

Not sure who submitted it to the archive, but someone needs to adjust that text file. Date should be 1st of June to 3rd of July and Maps should be 01-06. Cheers whoever did it anyway and for the thread, you're good people! Doomer Boards krew4lyfe indeed!
