I decided today I will be doing a playthrough of the doom project I'm best recognized for, UAC Ultra. It's my first cacoward winning short episode for Doom 2 that I collaborated on with Super Jamie. I'll be talking a little bit about the development of the wad and how it came to be. I'll play through its entirety today and probably tomorrow morning if I dont finish the whole thing. I'll be streaming on my twitch channel today at 5:00pm US EDT (~3 hours from the time of this message). Check it out if you want to watch, ask questions, and learn some super secret stuff. You'll also get to hear a little bit about my plans for the future. [countdown:Streaming Live in...=June 11 2018 5:00 PM -4]over..[/countdown]

Sounds great! If possible, it would be interesting to hear some things about Super Jamie too since I feel like we as a community never really knew him that well.

Make sure to highlight it for people who can't watch it live.

Didn't catch the whole episode, only two thirds or so. It was interesting though.
Early on you spoke a little about Doom 2016 and how some areas might be similar. Care to show us some comparison screenshots? I wouldn't be surprised if they lazily(?) went through the cacoward winners looking for inspiration when they made the new game.
Also, do you (40 bucks and everyone else) think that UAC Ultra would have gotten the recognition it did if it was made using only the stock D2 textures and flats? I doubt it myself, since nice graphics are instrumental in making something popular. Especially with the "casual" crowd, who aren't aware of the finer parts of a good WAD. I suspect that it may play a large part in Brutal Doom's popularity, since it is *very* graphical in nature. Panem et Circenses.

I was sure I had the image somewhere in the cloud. I remember for sure posting it on facebook around the time they released the gameplay video but I can't find it for the life of me. Here's something like it: I'm not sure what's more of a stretch, that they made a Foundry level as a throwback to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3's first stage* or that they poked around in the cacowards on doomworld, saw UAC Ultra, and thought people would want to play the new Doom in a place like that. (*) The first level in THPS3 really is called The Foundry. In interviews with id software employees commenting about the level design in Doom, they said they intentionally designed some of the arenas like "skate parks" to complement the speed and mobility mechanics of the player. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 is produced by Activision which is the same company that produced PSX Doom which might be why it has Doom Guy as a secret character.Am I crazy?

Who knows but I'll buy your story, and you now join good company with Sgt Mark IV as Doom community inspirations for Doom 2016. Or was this one of Super Jamie's parts?
