In yet another wonderful thread where we get to find out that our so called Doomy brothers and sisters haven’t got much taste at all, which “popular” wads have you not played or megawads that you have piked out on after two or three maps? (If wads you like are here, you could also attempt to cunt the person posting them in the attempt to get them to play it or finish it)
I’ll start:
SPEED OF DOOM!! From what I’ve read it doesn’t sound like something that would appeal to me. I tried maybe three maps and never got around to finish the rest.
MEMENTO MORIS!!! BOTH OF THEM!! I’ve played up until Map03 on one of them, probably the first. Seemed pretty basic and not fun and not really something I kept in mind to come back around to.

I've played fuckloads of wads but one I actually am completely unable to play is lilith.pk3.
Also have never touched KDIZD yet, oddly enough.

Also have never touched KDIZD yet, oddly enough. Well someone has something to do today, I’m actually jealous. The companion thread on Doomworld, if they’re actually still there and you can find them, are legendary in the salty kind of way. Isn’t lilith a kind of bug wad?

There's still plenty of popular stuff I haven't got to yet. Scythe 2, Speed of Doom, and Sunder and 3 things that come to my mind right now. I probably won't check Sunder though.

Oh yeah Scythe 2: I quit after that Mr. X map. Wasn’t really feelin it anyways. Sunder I checked out when it was on the Megawad Club and yeah I won’t be playing that seriously but that tower map sure was pretty.

Mordeth. I decided to wait for the real thing I guess. Heh, keep on waiting good brother. Your post gives me the chance to spruik that I am indeed the 2014 Mordeth Award winning mapper. While not as shiny as your Cacoward and the fact there were a couple of dozen other mappers I shared it with, I really dig that trophy.

It specifically requires ZDoom whereas I'm more comfortable with GZDoom. The wad actually does a check to see which port you're playing on, preventing you from actually playing anything it if it is not ZDoom and I can't be bothered to switch ports just to play some wad that for some reason got real popular (most likely because the testers again).

Is that true? Have you run it and it comes up with that? What kind of bullshit is that.... Graf Zahl had a lot to do with development so I wonder why that would be the case. Also this wad is popular, but not in the way you think. See the aforementioned threads for more info. I liked it, as one of the first wads I played after coming to the community in 2011. Skipping from 1995 to then, this was pretty spectacular to me at the time. Oh the days of innocence.... what's wrong with firing up ZDoom anyway?
late edit: just realised you were takin about lilith heh

All of them. I haven't played any of them.
I don't care. Fight me if you can't keep it.

A lot because I'm too lazy and I'm occupied with other things.
I can mentionate :
-All Ribbiks' recent stuff. Never Played Stardate , Magnolia , Swim with the whales. I shoud maybe , they look quite interesting visually.
-Mayhem series
-Bloodstain , Hellbound (just played the first levels)
- The japanese community project
-Adventure of Squares series
- Memento Mori 2 (I've played the first many times)
- A lot of Zdoom popular projects because it's my least favourite port.
-BTSX episode 2 , I played the first but I'm not motivated to do the sequel.

Most of them, because it's hard to get into them. Also, I dislike increased difficulties and unfair combat in those popular wads.

Probably lots of popular wads mainly because it's mostly map sets and much harder for me to get into nowadays. I just check out stuff I find interesting.

I've made the stuff that I've played a matter of public record. at this point, the only things that i have played but not written a review on are Doom II and stuff that found its way into a couple of Jive compilation megaWADs. I did actually play through some of the stuff from... Jive's 18th i think? that's where the reviews of ESW2 and the Alpha Complex Trilogy came from, because they stuck with me either through weirdness (ESW) or just being a fucking cool run of three levels (ALPHA1). I did not remember Tony Sideris's GENESIS, but I know that I definitely played it. I suppose that it was among the least memorable parts of the set.

I haven't played much of the "popular" wads as I'm more of a fan of much older stuff, don't know why to be honest and I would probably really enjoy them but I just can't bring myself to play much of them.
