So we might see some new Doom? Interesting.
I wonder how much of it is going to actually be from the trashed Doom 4 project, or if that was just Pete hinting that we might see some Doom but not necessarily exactly what the name could imply. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

If they'll announce Doom 5 on this E3 then the game will be a disaster. Bethesda is now using the strategy of announcing games 4-5 months before the release, a good game needs at least 3 years of development and it's not even 2 years since Doom 4 was released. Even Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus felt very rushed and unfinished even though it was released 3 years after New Order (and 2 years after Old Blood). I hope they give Doom 5 another year in the oven, though it's Bethesda, so anything can happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announce a new Doom game. Bethesda has built it's entire company around shipping broken fucking games, it's been that way forever now.

What's a Bethesda game without bugs, sounds very unusual and unnatural . I just hope that if it's true, it's not a rushed game. I mean, Doom 2016 seems to still receive updates so they certainly don't seem to have moved away from the title yet, or not completely anyway. Also, even if it does get announced this year I don't expect it to be out before 2019.

Go D2TWID please How with they make earth interesting and will captivate the modern gamers, while sticking to the series's roots? The scraped one sounded reallyyyy generic.

I wonder if they will make this just like Doom 2 is to Ultimate Doom. 1 new weapon, 5 new monsters, and 15 levels with all new earthy environments?
I think it would be worth their while to make all the gameplay mechanics the same while giving us all those cities, streets, and industrial factories they binned.

I hate the rebooting of this franchise.. they made the Doomworld and Classic Facebook groups completely uninhabitable with a bunch of washed up gamers who haven't played Doom since the 90's calling themselves "veterans" and invading the place berating everyone for their taste if they didn't want the group they'd been using for years to share their projects, get feedback and design tips to get spammed with similar looking screenshots with ironic captions or "Rip and Tear" memes... despite the elitist Doomworld website intellectuals calling the FB group "Cancer" because they can't handle banter.. it actually used to be an awesome place, I had conversations with John* Romero there, the project leader of Hell Revealed 2 was also there and I got to compliment him on his megawad, there were others that I can't remember right now.. I'd make a post and a random guy would call me out for a map I made, haha. @vordakk was also there, it was awesome.
Then the place became negative as hell and the arguments made me lose interest in Doom (2016) altogether. It looks generic as well. The more interesting posters who had substance or had something to show all got drowned out and it's just another FB game forum, now.

It's all the dumb hype around it before it was released, like the closed quakecon event where they showed gameplay footage but you couldn't bring your phones or cameras. It was in development for almost 10 years, the leaked screenshots don't even appear in the game anymore, those news articles about how they scrapped the whole game and remade it from scratch, I think I remember another article where someone was saying that the game would be able to support 50+ monsters on screen at once or something...?
There's way too much marketing and community involvement when it comes to new games that we can't even have our old hangout anymore.

Are they going to call it Doom 2? xd No, it will be called DooM II, and the stable release version will be 1.666 xdd. Also, about some things said above, if there is something that ruins virtually anything is: elitism AND purism. Gaming communities are no longer what they once were, but then nothing really is. Still, I take these "rip & tear" people over these 2 particular categories any day...

Or is that just a horrendous misspell rofl fucking kill me I get their names mixed up all the time with my friends as well.. they both had a huge impact on my childhood and both their names carry the same weight so it's easy for me to get mixed up (especially since I'm not good at proof reading haha).

I keep my expectations low/non-existent, no disappointment that way.
