If you're a GZDoom fanatic you probably already know about its recent update that includes "Physically Based Rendering" that makes everything look SUPER BEAUTIFUAL! OOOOOOOH AAAAAAAAAAAAAH(PBR/non-PBR materials demonstration video)(flowing water demonstration video)People have already started making a version fit for vanilla textures as well. In case you don't understand what you're looking at, the most general way I can put it is that GZDoom now enables a feature to put a mask over textures which make the surfaces glimmer depending on which direction the light source is hitting it, giving them the illusion of a more three-dimensional appearance even though they are flat surfaces. So now everything can look like this. It's a pretty exciting achievement for Doom, for sure. It's fun to see everyone experimenting with it. It's taking me a while to adjust to it. I'm quick to be a little repulsed by it, only because it makes everything look a little too real against the cartoony sprites and textures we use every day. It's interesting to think about what kind of quest Graf Zahl is on with GZDoom. He certainly seems like an "out with the old, in with the new" kinda guy.

I haven't kept up with the news lately but seeing this made me M O I S T. I now wanna put this against my "hyper-realistic" Doom maps and see what comes on the other end
